Shows today being animated to look like anime.

But hey, cartoons are for kids here, so that's how it goes.

I've noticed this for a while now. Newer cartoons are being drawn to imitate anime, ie. Totally Spies, Megas XLR, Martin Mystery and Teletoons newest show, Kappa Mikey

You forgot to mention that Hi Hi Puffy Amiyumi, Teen Titans, and Avatar: The Last Airbender are also drawn to imitate anime. Even the Aeon Flux cartoons are included in the anime category in local DVD stores. Dumbasses.

But hey, cartoons are for kids here, so that's how it goes.

Oh c'mon. Cartoons aren't just for kids. I'm 14 and I still watch cartoons (such as Foster's, Spongebob Squarepant, Camp Lazlo, etc.) You can watch a cartoon if you want regardless of age. It depends on whether the cartoon is entertaining for a teen or adult. There are right now millions of people my age period who watch Spongebob Squarepants and still do (If they like it, I mean).

Don't be TOO sure... I'm 32 years old, and I love Spongebob! So does my boss, and several of my graduate school classmates. (Unless you meant that, due to the presure to conform, a teenager in HS would not admit to liking Spongebob... But what the hell... I never thought conformity was very cool anyway.

One of the big inspirations for me for this show was – I don’t know if you guys ever watched Robotech or Macross, but like in the very first episode Rick Hunter gets into a robot and instead of being a hero, he wrecks buildings and almost kills Minay. And I was like, “That’s what I would do, man – I would wreck chicks’ houses just to look at them in a giant robot.” That’s why our hero does what he does – he’s a good guy, but along the way he causes a lot of collateral damage.

I wouldnt say cartoons are just for kids after all the people who make them are adults who inturn love them...well most of them do anyways.

By cartoons do you mean american made (or a non-japanese cartoon) or are you including anime.
