Ok so I am looking for some advice on a few anime that I am currently interested in. Before I begin have a look at my anime section, first off with seen some. Most of those I am watching or I have seen on CN in the past, or I am currently waiting for the next disc to released. And now for the anime that I have seen all. So there an idea of the different anime that I like, or I have seen.

As for my type of anime that I am into: I have always been into mecha anime, wherever it be the series type or to the more action type (Gundan Wing), more recently I feel as if I have moved towards more dramas and thrillers. But otherwise I am open for open suggestive but here a few titles I am waiting on from netflixs and was hoping to get some information on.

Blue Gender: I remember watching this show on CN/AS way back in the day but after hearing people say that it was really badly edited I thought I go back and see what it's really like.

Outlaw Star: Like blue gender I wanted to watch this series from start to finish and also see what the series would be like on DVD.

Requiem from the darkness: The summary for this series sold me it's sound like a supernatural thriller and I am hoping it will deliever, is there any show you would compare this to?

Knight Hunters/Knight Hunters Eternity: I am really into shows dealing with Assassination so I figured I give this a shot. Are there any shows that would be comparable to this? Also the order for this is KH and then KHE right?

Gunparade March: I don't know much about this series other then it was a recommendation from Netflix, but those are really hit or miss.

If there are any other series/movies/oav/ona whatever that you would like to recommend that would be very much appreicated. Many thanks.
Till next time,

Delta Kiral

Jeez, Haruhi haters everywhere I guess. Seems like nearly everyone's list I check recently has Haruhi rated as crap, did you really think that Chrono Trigger OAV and Spiral were better anime? I'd say I'm disappointed, but I guess that's a topic for a different time; I'll try to stick as closely to what you want as I can.

Blue Gender - I thought it was pretty interesting at the time, but I hadn't seen a whole lot of other anime. If there was ever a type of anime worth seeing almost exclusively as a marathon or two, this fits the bill quite nicely. I personally only rated it a 6/10, but in my book that wasn't a waste of time, I just wouldn't recommend it to anyone unless they were asking specifically about it.

I haven't seen any others, but here's two that have that 'adventure' quality you seem to like so much in anime:

Hunter X Hunter - The most underrated popular shounen I'd say. The fact that it was never liscensed was nothing more than a mistake.

Kino's Journey - Absolutely fantastic in so many ways. Just don't go into it expecting hundreds of deaths and thousands of explosions, this is a story that feels like it is told slower than molasses. Slowly, deliberately, mysteriously, and entrancingly.

I have only seen one out of that list and that's Outlaw Star. I thought it was a very enjoyable anime. The action is fast and the characters are very endearing. It's a very lighthearted anime most of the time but it does get serious towards the end. I actually watched this anime star to finish and enjoyed every minute of it.

Blue Gender was edited a fair amount for language and graphic content for its CN broadcast, and there were some complaints about inconsistencies in the editing, but this is a series that's too graphic and explicit to air on AS (even under current standards) without editing. I watched most of the CN broadcast and didn't feel it lost much, beyond one episode that couldn't air without serious mangling. (It has background scenes of people masturbating and getting blow jobs, amongst other things.)

As for the story, Blue Gender starts out looking like a hard-core mecha "bug hunt" but very gradually turns itself into an excellent melding of action and hard-won romance. I found it interesting less for the action (which is good and believable) than for the way the two lead characters change over the course of the series, and not only change in opposite directions but see multiple role-reversals over time. That's pretty rare for anime. To use ANN ratings, I'd give it a B+ for storytelling and a B overall. The dub's solid, and the closer is one of the best for series anime.

Outlaw Star: Fun series, but has little depth and has some of the more implausible action content if you think too much about it. Also unimpressive visually. The CN edits mostly just eliminated one entire episode (and you'll understand why when you see it, although it also cuts out the explanation for where one of the special shells came from for the Caster) and added some black-bar "nudity screens" that probably really didn't need to be there. The dub is good simply because Steve Blum voices the lead in the type of role that Steve Blum is meant to play. I'd give it a C for art but it's entertaining enough to merit a B overall.

Gunparade March is a very hit-or-miss series. It looks like it wanted to be a more light-hearted and teen-oriented version of Blue Gender but never found the right balance between its romantic, action, and slice-of-life elements. Although it does have its light-hearted moments, it's better when it's being serious, such as one hard-hitting prolonged death sequence that I'd rank among anime's best. Looks great, earning an A- from me for visuals, but I'd only give it only a B overall and that's probably being nice. Dub is only barely passable, and do watch how the closer for the last episode changes slightly.

Blue Gender- Can't really add any more than what key said, but I just want to let you know my ANN rating for watching the [as] version is decent, while after I watched it on DVD I raised it to very good, 2 points higher. It is defininitly one to watch in chunks though. I was impressed with how much more I liked this on DVD.

Outlaw Star- This is an off and on series, but one of my favorites. The DVD is differnt in that curse words are more harsh, and some suggestive scenes are left in. Prepare to hear the word shit a lot. Some eps can be deep, but most of the time its go and get them kind of show. There are some very good moments to be had though. Not to mention one of the prettiest ending songs ever, both of them.

Requiem from the Darkness- I actually like this one, still haven't figured where I want to rank it yet. The first thing you will notice is the art, love it or hate it. If you find your self accepting it you will find yourself immersed into a dark world. I didn't expect to care for any of the characters from the start, however, by the end I was very interested, espeacially one in particular. I wouldn't so much call this show scary, but I would definatly call it very creepy. It is a sick and dirty world, let yourself become part of it, and enjoy. There is one thing that I have been wanting to scream from the rooftops, and I think this gives me an opportunity to do so. It only has a 2.0 track. Geneon what the hell were you thinking! At the very least this deserves 5.1. I mean it would increase the creep factor by 10. You have the visuals, you have the scary stories, you have a supernatural environment. And you give it a 2.0. The genius that made that decision needs to be taken out to the public stocks and flogged for treason. Thanks I have been wanting to say that for a long time, and now I feel better. Don't get me wrong ,the sound is good, its just in 2.0, which makes no sense.
