I was wondering if there would be a part two to the Twelve kingdoms. Disk 10 left alot open. I was just wondering if anyone knew. Any information anyone might have would be really appreciated. Thank you for your time[/i]

Like the thread says the show is dead, perhaps in some time when the novels are done there could be a few OVA to help bridge the gap. If your extremely interested in this series I believe tokyopop is going to be releasing the novels, I think they announce that novel at AX. So if your interested pick those up, I think that I might give them a try and see how they are. Till next time, Delta Kiral |

To be honest, this has has been my single biggest disappointement in all of anime to date. No other show do I think deserved to be continued as well as Twelve Kingdoms. If I thought giving $500-$1000 would make or break the difference between continuing or not continuting the series for another 45 or so eps, I would make that investment (no joke). |

You are quite right, 12 Kingdoms was freakin' good. I bought the two boxsets on the internet just because I like the title and it got rated well. HELL, I wasn't disappointed AT ALL. Youko's character development is amazing, and Taiki's story really caught my interest (I know most people don't like it though). Also, the climax is very intense (which was kinda cool in such a slow-paced series).

In contrast, I thought this show was bad and completely overrated. When I saw it, I wasn't too interested. I really didn't care about the history it represents, and personally I felt as if Youko was a weak character. She did not seem to have any of the qualifications to be the main character. I think, because of Youko, the story dragged a lot. She not only is ugly, but also a weak, dumb, lost girl. In addition, throughout the entire show, nothing interesting occurs. The anime seems to be a safe anime that just wants to make some bucks. The ending was the worst ever. It was worse than Berserk's ending. I don't see how people could possibly like it so much. The animations weren’t even that great. Moreover, I don't even remember if there was an intense climax. Most of it was predictable and to have an intense climax, there has to be a good amount of rising action; and in this anime there barely was any. Maybe you thought Youko was really going to fail and thought that she wasn't going to get any help, but that's just crazy thinking. The plot was like someone brainstorming with no clrea topic and having mixed thoughts. There wasn't a big important event occurring throughout the journey of Youko. This anime was a complete disappointment. |
