To be fair, it's not making all this up. The catty backstabbing, shallow hypocritical, cutthroat elements of organized cosplay definitely exist. There's some real bastard/douchettes out there doing this, this show just chooses to highlight this since it's the only way to get anyone to watch who wasn't already a cosplayer or didn't have a healthy interest in the craft.

Obviously you did not really WATCh the show or you'd know there is a (yes singular) guy in the cast, (who is OBVIOUSLY not there only to serve the purpose) proving that it's really, TRULY about craftsmanship and not all about T&A.
And there are plenty of Cosplay "cam-whores" making money off "cosplaying", that was the the huge stink over the inaugural 'World Cosplay Summit' in Japan because the winner was obviously a "cam-whore" flown in from Italy and all the other cosplayers were mere window dressing to celebrate her hot-ness. But I know 10 years ago I could rattle off several girls that had "exclusive" "cosplay" content behind a paywall. I'm not saying the cast are all aspiring to that, but...

That guy has disappeared as of the third episode. I wonder if he'll show up again!

Cosplay should be done by fans of shows who enjoy dressing up and creating plane and simple.

man, I didn't know they filmed an episode of that in my hometown... I feel like I should apologize or something but I don't know why... ( and I don't even go to Anime Matsuri...)
Funny review Zac, I had a hard time controlling my laughter at work

I love you, Zac.
No homo, of course.
This was just what I needed today.
This was an amazing article.

Sorry Yaya, but I don't think people will be admiring your "craft" if they can literally count the veins in your chest.
At least, I know I wouldn't.

Yeah I missed this one (not having a TV), and the trailer made it look interesting, but than I know people who actually do Cosplay as well and while it's work.
I don;t think it's half as intense as it's made out to be but than again probably the difference between "pro and "armatures" for lack of a better term.

You mean the one guy who seems to only be there to embarrass himself and prove how this is a "girls only" field and that if you can't sexy it up you're doing it wrong?

::sigh:: I just hope that the people that had watched this show who doesn't really know much/nothing about cosplay think we're all like this. yeah sure they're are some people like this in the cosplay world, but we aren't all like this at all.
I'm a bit concerned that this show might make the people who doesn't know about the anime world start sterotyping us with the people on this show.
just had to get that fear out. lol.
