hi has anyone seen Basilisk and if so is it any good? I am debating wether to get it when it comes out. I read a peice about in the July issue of NewType. It looks good because its a period peice, I like those kinds of anime set during the Shogunate (ie Kenshin and Peacemaker) Thanks

i really liked it. the only complaint i had is there is a bit too much fanservice, but it doesn't hurt the show that much.

I watch the first two episodes of this series fan-sub and I didn't really care for it all that much. But I have heard nothing but great reviews for this series since then so I will probably rent vol 1 on netflix. The other series that I am trying to get back into is Blood+ I gave up (more like I was watching other things) around the 12th episode and now everyone is telling me that sticking with is worth it in the long run.

I thought it was great. There are historical references, but the story takes a back seat to the action. The characters are unique and original, and the fight scenes are unpredictable and amazing. If you're seeking some really nice action, then you won't be dissapointed with Basilisk.

While I have my own problems with the series, I still gave it an "Excellent" rating. Basilisk is definitely worth getting. It's one of the better action shows out there.

I really liked this anime as well. I think there is also a live action movie about it.
