Wait. Matador yaoi?
Too easy. Almost as easy as track coach yuri.

If it's in Ikki it's extremely unlikely to be yaoi. Still looking forwards to it, since I think est em is an excellent manga-ka.

I'd like to put the obligatory "bullfighting is inhumane and shameful" post right here.

YESSSSS. Any new material by est em is awesome and since she's already touched upon the bullfighting in earlier manga, I know she will do a great job - and create a story that will not romanticize a brutal and abusive blood sport (I think in Red Blinds The Foolish, she did a good job showing the truth about bullfighting's viciousness while avoiding heavy-handedness in her message).
Now, if only someone would license more English language releases of est em's works . . .

If it's going to be running in Monthly Ikki, there's a good chance it won't be yaoi. Although even if it was yaoi or not, it would still be a manga about bullfighting.

est em confirmed on Twitter that the new series is not BL; the main character is a girl. All you squeamish straight guys can read it without qualms.

Based on what seventh said, this could be a good series. Such a bloody and cruel sport shouldn't be shown in a positive light. I hope this series will illuminate the problems of bullfighting while still being an enjoyable read.

But let's be honest: if it was a yaoi series, the bullfighting would probably take a backseat to the romance. There are BL series with several occupations and settings utilized, but there is a reason why people don't directly seek out BL series when they want to read about "_____" topic.

So since the main character is a girl, could that mean this would be a gender bender? If she's a very boyish girl there could still be BL implications. I think it would be nice if BL was considered a turn-off for male readers NOT because of the male+male content, but simply because the style of storytelling is told with female readers in mind.
