Takehiko Inoue has stated on his website that he's working on two artbooks, one in color and in black and white.
http://www.itplanning.co.jp/finouee.html I usually stay away from artbooks but I'm just in love with his art, especially the stuff in Vagabond. Can't wait.... |

damn 2 of them this summer? Now i'm not sure which one to import, the color version or the black and white version. Hopefully someone will put up a side by side comparison.

I don't know if I'll import them, as there are still alot of artbooks I really want. There is a chance Viz could release them, in which case I'd definitally pick up the colored one. His black and white work is great, but I only REALLY love the new style he uses, which I suspect is the result from his inker/assistants, as he's never used this style before.

Some of Inoue's color picture from Vagabond are freaking amazing. Here are just some that caught my eyes. His artwork has mature from the Slam Dunk days.

Last weekend, overcome with boredom, I casually picked up a copy of Vagabond Vol. 2 that was sitting on my fiance's bookshelf and began nonchalantly flipping through it to simply pass some time. I ended up reading the entire thing almost immediately, mesmerized by the art. I've since hungrily sought out more volumes of the manga and am quickly falling in love with Inoue's artwork. I'm so enthralled, in fact, that spotting this thread merely a week after I first touched any of his work has made me ridiculously excited and extremely desirous for an artbook.
