Hopefully the title here is clear enough; What animes have you seen with altered music from the original that you liked/disliked? Did you even know the music was altered?

Dragonball Z A well-known example, I of course was introduced to this show by the Funi-dub so I thought the rock music was part of the show... and this to me is the exception to the rule that the original music is always "better." After watching some of the original DBZ in japanese with a classical music score i feel that the rock music probably helped DBZ quite a bit become a success in America. After all, different countries = different popular music styles.

One Piece Original music is AMAZING, always gets stuck in my head. While the new music put out in 4kids version feels innapropriate and unoriginal. Maybe I'm just biased to this version, but I feel this show would have been better left alone.... music-wise. (among other things)

I'm sure there are more examples out there, these 2 are what come to mind for me.

I've only watched one dub, so I cannot comment on this too much. However, several of the dubbed songs in DiC's version of Sailor Moon were superior to the music played in the original. "My Only Love" and "Carry On" seemed to fit their scenes a lot better than the Japanese versions ("Carry On" replacing a jazzy/instrumental version of "Moonlight Densetsu" that didn't have enough power for the scene involved).

However, I adore much of the music from the later seasons of the original show (haven't seen the dub past the original 60(?) dubbed episodes), and have heard Cloverway did not do so well with their music replacement, so these are probably more the exception than the rule.

Any series first dubbed in the U.S has almost all of its music altered... And I don't like it. Neither do I like the Latin American versions of the songs.
