What exactly is Mokura ga Ita? The encyclopedia had no real info on it.

Surprize surprize, Death Note will become an anime. I'm surprized it didn't get announced sooner. Perhaps they wanted to wait until the manga finished up before making the adaptation.

However if it going to be released this fall, chances are the've been working on it for quite some time. Course I have no idea how long it takes to make anime these days. I know it is considerably shorter than it used to be, due to advances in computer drawing. Does anyone know?

I wonder if Death Note is going to be animated by Kyoto Animation since they made a cameo in FMP:TSR which also animated by them. Rolling Eyes

Here's the website I found:

http://www.bokuragaita.com/

The character designs look REALLY freaky! Shocked

i don't have any clue how they could animate Death Note without making it boring. hope the ending doesn't suck like the manga one did.

I'm pretty sure that bookstore just posted what they'd read in the anouncement in the Shonen Jump mangabon. Although I'm interested in what the other "secret plans" SJ mentioned are. Maybe another manga series?

I don't see how that would be a big problem. Afterall, Spiral managed to pull it off up until the very end when they gave us the big wtfisthatall ending.

I really don't get why people think Death Note will be boring as an anime. At all. People sat through animes about making bread, playing Go, and playing tennis. What's boring about killing people, trying to hunt down the murderer, more killing people...? Yes, there's lots of talking, but if done right, it won't be boring at all.

As for the ending, if they change it from the manga, I won't be happy. The manga ending is the only reason I'm willing to buy the series now. Wink

I know why Death Note wasn't announced until now.

Answer me this: how the hell are you supposed to put filler in Death Note?

With the manga finished, Death Note can see a proper anime adaptation, without getting Zatch Bell'd.

You don't put filler in a cerebral thriller. Death Note at least, can operate from beginning to end without a problem.

Heh, it rhymes. Anime hyper (yes I'm easily amused)

Anyway I'm surprised ANN posted this so late...the actual news of DN becoming an anime was posted weeks ago on manganews.net....

I'm kinda suprised Death Note's getting an anime. Pleasantly suprised, but suprised nonetheless. I was assuming that the live action movie was being made in lieu of an anime. Guess I assumed wrong.

by inserting episodes that feature something like l and his quests for snacks. which i wouldn't put past some studios to attempt.

Monster was a suspense/thriller on the same level as Death Note, IMHO and even with 74 episodes I don't think it ever got boring. I think if they stay faithful to the manga it will be good. Can't wait for the movie! Now that I say that, can't wait for the anime either!

wow, death note anime...

I hope they alter the storyline for the anime (i.e. fix the ending)...

Seriously, I'm having trouble finding uses for volumes 8-11 since they're pretty much unreadable and occupying needed space on my bookshelf next to series that haven't jumped the shark (i.e. genshiken/Air Gear/etc).

but regardless of how poorly the series was handled post volume 7, it'll be fun to see the series animated. A movie alone wouldn't be able to do justice to the series.(live-action death god's are just way to cheesy).
