I loved the artwork for the series. Which is why I got into it. Sadly for me, just can't stand the stories. Might as well call the series, "Alice in Hell", cause that is where she is at for intents and purposes.

Hmmm.. Never really thought about it as if Alice were stuck in Hell, but it makes sense now that I give the issue a moment's thought. Unlike other reverse harem franchises where, even if your favorite doesn't get picked, you know the heroine will be well off, this is the only one where I can say that all choices are just different degrees of 'bad'-ness.

spoiler[Even Julius is a bad option. His relationship with Alice is so blah. It's like "Well, you're around and you make things a bit more entertaining, so yeah, we can hook up". I had the same feeling with Inuyasha's relationship with Kagome, and it ruined their interaction for me. ]

I'm looking forward to this arc. I've always thought that if Alice had bothered to pay attention to Peter that he probably wouldn't have been a psycho stalker. Of the suitors, I always thought that his affection was genuine even if it was always portrayed as an obsession in the other arcs. Besides, the artists always make him look so freaking cute with the ears and tail, so it'll be nice to see it and be able to appreciate it without reminding myself that Peter's a nut.

I also hadn't thought of the hell scenario, but you know, it kind of makes sense, especially with the very high likelihood that spoiler[her sister Lorina is dead]. (Do you suppose Edith, the youngest Liddell, will ever come in?)

I'm with you on Peter, cutiebunny. He seems to have been watching her (which, okay, puts him back in Creepy Stalker Land), but that means that he knows her and presumably understands her better, making his feelings genuine rather than a product of some rule. Plus yes, bunny ears. Laughing

You'll get your answer in volume 3.

Ok. Well here is a bunch of stuff that isn't too spoilery IF you have read all the books that have been release so far, but I will tag them for those who haven't.

Alice's little clips of lost memory seem to involve spoiler[some sort of unhappy event that involves her sister]. In a couple of flashbacks you can see that there is some spoiler[strife or argueing going on between the two sisters] and another where her sister appears spoiler[to be reclining in a state of repose as if dead]

There is another flashback scene that involves a man who spoiler[is a dead-ringer for Blood]. Apparently, spoiler[Alice has a raging crush on him, but his eyes are on the sister.]

Now this is a mini spoiler I heard from someone who had played the games. It is not much of a spoiler, but it does partly explain Peter's fixation on Alice. spoiler[All the characters who "have duties" represent a specific hour of the day, to which they are assigned. Alice kept repeating that her favorite hour of the day ended up being an afternoon hour (somewhere between 2 and 4, I can't remember). Anyway, her favorite hour is the one that is represented by Peter. That is why Peter was the one who spirited her away to The Country of Hearts, in order to "grant her happiness". Basically, by choosing the hour of day specific to Peter to do whatever pleasurable activity she chose to do (have a tea party w/ sis and guy-who-looks-like-..., she ended up evoking Peter to watch over her.] My guess is, when Peter kidnapped her, he probably thought that he was protecting her happiness in some way.

I also hear that Peter's route is the one that is most [/spoiler]revelatory when it comes to tying up the loose endsspoiler[

We have already seen hints of this. Like during the few scenes were we see Peter and Nightmare discussing Alice. ]
and Peter remarks that spoiler[ "As long as Alice is happy, I am satisfied" even while he is unhappy himself since she didn't choose him] Those scenes are very poignant to me since Peter seems so completely sane, coherent and resolved whenever they occur (unlike his usual strangeness).
