Hello everyone Smile
Well, for an introduction...

My name is Daniel, I live in Montreal Quebec Canada, 22 years old and I work a stressful, depressing job as a network admin for a transports company.

Besides that, the past couple of years, I have been falling in love with anime's or mangas.... however, you guys can probably still call me an anime Newb Razz
______________________________________________
I have a couple of questions and I am looking for new animes to enjoy.

My first question would be out of the forum.
You have 2 sections, anime and manga...
Whats the difference... (I bet I will get bashed for not searching first...)

My second question would be what anime/manga series/movie would you guys recommend ?

I first started off Inuyasha... Fell in love with it and I have seen every single one of them... I think... + all 4 movies.

After that, I fell for Himoura Kenshin and yes I have seen them all.
For the kenshin series... I just loved it... Loved it so much that now I cant watch Inuyasha anymore...
Its realistic compared to Inuyasha, historical and has one great fantastic story.
And yes, I found out about trust and betrail... and yes... its fantastic.

I have loved Ninja Scroll the movie
I also seen and loved all that is Full Metal Alchemist.

So... any recommendations according to my taste ?

And please, you guys will have to excuse my poor english grammar... I am one of those frenchies... that eat Poutine at la belle province.

Thanks again

Welcome to Anime News Network!

Also, there's an Introduction forum elsewhere, but don't worry, everyone makes this mistake.

To answer your questions...

The anime forum is where you talk about anime (Japanese animation). The manga forum is where you talk about manga (Japanese comics).

As for your taste in anime, I'd say it's excellent, aside from Inuyasha. That show got old REAL quick, IMO ("in my opinion," in case you're new to discussion forums).

And don't worry about your grammar; it's not that bad. Hell, you didn't even use leet speak (LOL, OMG, WTF, etc.) at all. You should see the threads where people say, "OMG i luv inuyasha sesshie is my bishie everybody reply if u luv him kagome is HAWT LOL111!!!" I hate that stuff.

Anyway, once again, welcome to ANN. Don't request downloads and enjoy your stay.

lol thanks for the welcome...

I am not into the 1337 talk but as an admin for a cs server... I see lots of it... tho its a mature cs server so the whining OMG BS HAXORS I PAWN YOU ALL kinda people get banned after warnings

As for Inuyasha... well it was the first anime I actually got into...
so after so many episodes, I just had to see them all to the end.

Tho I was VERY Disapointed with the ending... considering there wasnt any... and the movies were soso...

Unlike Full Metal that has a perfect series ending.
then the movie continued it perfectly... with a pretty good end...
However I must admit that I was pissed off that they just left Winry like that... all alone... horny... but hey, nothing is ever perfect, thats the reality so the end is Good.

I cant watch inuyasha now that I discovered so much better.

Any suggestion for me ?
Looking for something Mature (no inuyasha/dragonball)
Something with a mind blowing story
Ehhh casulties...

You have my welcome also. I hope that you'll enjoy it here.

I have to recommend to you Fushigi Yugi & Ceres (aka Ayashi no Ceres). Both are written by the manga-ka Yuu Watase. Both are very dramatic, sometimes dark, sometimes very funny and romantic.

FY is about Miaka Yuki who is sucked into a book and is brought to Ancient China. Her quest (when she is chosen as a priestess) is to find her seven warriors and call upon the God to protect the country against another country that is attacking it. Her best friend, Yui, comes into the book as well and becomes the priestess for the enemy. Excellent story! Love Pentagrams (octuptlugrams? whatever Rolling Eyes bunches of characters that love someone who loves someone else Very Happy ), murder, betrayal, Gods...this is a very fun anime.

Ceres is about Aya Mikage, who on her 16th birthday discovers that she has another being inside of her, Ceres. Ceres is out to destroy the Mikage family and the Mikage are out to kill Ceres/Aya execpt for Aya's cousin who has his own plans... Not to mention Aya finds her true love, deals with her twin and cousin, murder, teen pregnancy... This is also an excellent story!

For sheer fun: Martian Successor Nadesico. This is just plain funny, there are serious moments too but mostly fun! A pilot who only wants to be a cook, the captain of the space ship who is in love with the cook/pilot, an anime fan-boy/pilot, and the mysterious Jovians who are out to get Earth!

These are 3 of my favorites and I'm sure others will suggest others.

Enjoy!

Greetings, dude!

Now, according to your taste...you make it sound like a food! Laughing

Samurai Champloo
-fluid, dynamic action sequences, good story, and the humor is definitely gonna leave you rolling on the ground.

Cowboy Bebop
-Same as Champloo, but the story's deeper, great humor and characters, and lovely music - you're gonna love Yoko Kanno's compositions

Don't worry about the Frenchie bit - you're not the only one far-flung here. I'm from the Philippines - land of the "balut" (Fear Factor featured this once), bagoong (fermented shrimp paste), and sinigang (half-spoiled milkfish boiled in vinegar broth and vegetables). Laughing

Coincidentially, we prefer our escargot stewed in coconut milk.

well it doesnt seem to be a problem from what I've seen of your writing but its worth noting that this forum is not a generic anime forum, treat it more like an 'Gentlemans and Ladies Club' so grammar, spelling, coherence and decent discussion are prime topics. Its a great forum once youve settled in a bit and a lot better than any other I've seen on the topic.

Welcome to the site and here are a couple recommendations to get you started.

Did you know ninja scroll actually gave birth to a series yeah it did alot of people did not know look it up. The series is basically like the movie so you should enjoy. Look it up useing the sites encyclopedia, and then use this sites list of retailers to go do comparative shopping. Saves you alot of money.

I see you also like fair that can be seen on cartoon networks adult swim so the other shows they air Cowboy bebop, samurai champloo, neon genesis evangelion. All these shows are highly reguarded.
