Anywhere you go you will see some form of an anime magezine wheather it's Becket Anime, Becket Manga etc.. But then theres the online world.
When you come into contact with Anime News Network's Proculture Addicts, or you find magezines at Anime Castle, Funimation you automatically wanna buy it but sometimes you could be fooled because say one day you bought a magezine at the store and then you decided to head over to FUNimation and see what new books they have. So you order the book online and when it arrives at you're house its the same information in the last book you bought.
The above was just an example of a possibility to what I'm aiming to ask in this topic but the true question is, from who do you recommend people order anime magezines from? This may sound like a dumb question but sometimes people who wanna learn about anime buy these magezines (the person is not very knowledgable in anime) and thinks that he is reading from a good source of information. When it is very possible that he is reading mumbo jumbo. We want in dept information, not no three paragraphs worth. I recommend PA. No, not because I'm posting on their site and don't wanna hurt people's feelings. I recommend this because it keeps you up to date on the top anime, includes detailed articles by staff, and is just plain amazing!
What I'm saying basically is that people need to know just what they are reading and do a little bit of resource of the source to which they are buying from. To whom do you recommend?

Hmm well for recommending a magazine for anime i'd have to recommend Anime Insider. I've found their articles to be rather good with a lot of fun content in other areas. I wouldn't really recommend NewType. Infamous for the many pictures it has it detracts from the actual content and in my honest opinion the articles aren't very interesting and act more like more advertising. I haven't checked out are Animerica but will soon. Sad to say that at my local bookstores (Chapters, Indigo Books and Coles) they don't sell any Protoculture Addicts.

Newtype is good, but apparently, and unfortunately, it seems to go through a hack job in order to become what is known as "Newtype USA." The pictures don't really bother me, but all the character descriptions and plot summaries to accompany each feature might as well have been written by a 12-year-old. There's all this babble and rambling on and unnecessary fancy wording. Apparently, it wants you to believe that Gundam SEED Destiny is the best anime in existence, and it pretends that the Haruhi craze doesn't exist in Japan right now (and neither do Hime-hime, Saiunkoku, and Gothicmade; although this part is understandable, as revealing unlicenced series might promote fansub downloading).
Without even reading Protoculture Addicts, I can assert that it is superior to both Newtype USA and Anime Insider. Seeing as how Key writes respectable reviews here on ANN, Protoculture Addicts definitely sports superior articles to either Anime Insider or Newtype USA. And the most important feature to any magazine is good articles.

Wow, I didn't know it was that bad and inaccurate. Although, the last Newtype USA I read was about a year ago. Please tell me they at least mentioned Haruhi in the latest issue. Ya, Gundam SEED Destiny was a very popular anime in Japan, but it wasn't anything special or groundbreaking in Japan like Haruhi.
About the fansub promotion thing though. One question, were they making a big deal about Bleach and Naruto before they were licensed? I'd be willing to bet they were.
I think the only anime magazine I get is Megami. It's not really something I would recommend the regular fan to get though. I get the rest of my information about anime news from the net (this site mainly).
