Me too, as long as you accept the fact that I hate the English version and everything about it.

The One Piece version that is on Toonami represents everything I used to hate about anime before I saw Paranoia Agent and Cowboy Bebop.
Dreadful, irritating, mind-numbing, stupid, badly-voiced, over-the-top, and most of all, boring.
It is why I won't touch the Japanese version.

?????... so you won't watch the Japanese version because you hate the english version? I heard they are almost completely different series when compared to each other... although i haven't had the opportunity to see for myself.
Most people do hate on One Piece that is shown on Toonami, but I have to admit that I've liked the episodes I've seen. I wish I would have known that Toonami was going to re-air the series on weekdays so I could've seen it from the beginning, but I'll still watch it whenever i get the chance.

Wait, you hate the dub, so you won't watch the Japanese version? Okay... FYI, the series is so much better uncut and unedited.

Toonami doesn't air on weekdays anymore. You're thinking of Miguzi.

At first, I wasn't all that into it (the manga, I don't watch the anime as much), but then somewhere in the Arlong arc I was hooked. I realized that its wackiness and silliness was what made it so great. Most other shonen titles are interested in having a serious story and fights, but One Piece isn't all that concerned with the angsty side of it. Yes, there are fights, but OP takes full advantage of the fact that it's a cartoon by making the characters do the most over the top things(this is not just referring to what the characters themselves do, but how they're drawn as well). Most other shonen focus their fights on some martial arts form with some magic involved, while OP tries to stretch(pun intended) the limit as much as possible by doing the most unbelievable yet silly things, while still having heart to the story.

I'd say something about the backwards logic of that, but if you're defining your tastes in anime by Paranoia Agent and Cowboy Bebop, you probably wouldn't like One Piece anyway.
But anyone claiming to like shonen series should definitely take part in it. I simply cannot see what a series like Naruto has that One Piece doesn't do better in most cases that makes people want to only watch Naruto and shun One Piece.

It has a lot better dialogue in Japanese, it makes more sense, and the humor is A LOT better. And no they're not even close to finding One Piece at this moment. They still have to take on CP9, Blackbeard, Buggy, Asce, Mihawk, the rest of the Shichibukai, and they need to get a new boat.

So those spoilers are from the manga? Are there any One Piece "filler" episodes?

For the English dub probably not. Yes those spoilers are from the manga but will end up in at least the Japanese anime. Should the anime get that far (referring to anime that have ended halfway through the manga)

There are a few in four filler arcs, but they're all reletively short. The longest is 13 episodes. They take constant breaks in Japan so that they don't have to have as much filler, and they slow down the adaptation by adding in new stuff (Soge-King theme song for example), or expanding on stuff in the manga to limit using up too much source material. They're keeping about 30 chapters behind the manga.

One Piece will make it to the end of CP9 in the anime at the very least. I suspect it will be animated to the end (if the manga ever makes it that far...).
I'm surprised you didn't mention Shanks. He has to be up to something awesome.

The filler arcs aren't so bad, not in comparison to the filler episodes that get woven into the actual plot (Loguetown, Ace in Arabasta, and the "3 game" Davy Back Fight with Foxy). Those episodes have to be watched and consistantly create inconsistancies and plotholes. So much so, you wonder if the writers actually pay attention to One Piece at all. Also, the expanded stuff works on a 50-50 basis. Things like the Soge-king theme song may be okay (haven't seen it) but, for example, when Nami first got her Climatact (way back in Arabasta) they utterly ruin the mood and point of the scene.
I know it seems whiny that I pick on little scenes but it's those little scenes that make OP so good, IMO. I can throw away the 13-episode filler arc. Nothing important happens. But I can't throw away those little changes that f*ck with what Oda's trying to make the audience understand without saying it. I have nothing against filler. I understand it's purpose. I just wish they would keep it completely separate. They're not being cute or crafty or smart when they try to weave filler into the actual story.
Personally, I'd like to see the anime end and come back in a year or two with a One Piece Z, or something. The next filler arc will be much longer if they decide to continue. I think keeping it running would have a worse effect on the ratings then taking it away would.
As for the manga, I can't see it stopping unless Oda physically can't continue it. He's only 31 so, assuming he remains in good health, he could easily write for another 40 years if needed. ...Although I guess the world could always be destroyed. That would stop it.
