Considering how they've been talking Spike TV deal since the initial announcement of the project, I'd always figured it was already licensed. Or has FUNimation actually had it this entire time and only waited until now to announce it?

I thought it was licensed this whole time too, but anyway I can't wait to get this. Black characters in a lot of anime seem to be more than a little stereotypical, so it'll be great to see another really cool black character around.

I wonder if Jackson will spout the line: "YES THEY DESERVED TO DIE, AND I HOPE THEY BURN IN HELL!!!"
That alone would be worth the price of admission...

"Hold on to your butts."
"Where's my super-suit?"
"They call me Mr. Glass."
"And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger, those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers!"
"Well I got a problem with spending ten thousand dollars on ungrateful, peanut-head niggers to get 'em out of jail, but I did it!"
"McCane! McCane!"
Augh. He's just been in too many movies.

I'm normally a subtitle snob, but this is a title I'm going to watch in English for sure. Samuel L. Jackson DEMANDS such a viewing!

Lance: Can you co-produce an anime spin-off to Snakes on a Plane while you're at it?

Is it true that this series is only 5 episodes long? If so, why so short?

Because, no original animated show ever lasts more than about 5 weeks on Spike TV (i.e. Ren & Stimpy Adult Party, Gary the Rat).
Gonzo realized this and decided that, if it was only going to last five episodes anyway, it might as well be a complete arc.

Yes, I know Stripperella, which lasted at least two seasons somehow, disproves my theory.

Wow, somehow I hadn't even heard of this anime yet...O.o
Sounds like it'll be awesome, though. Samuel L. Jackson is a great actor. ^^
(I just wish I didn't have to suffer through watching Spike TV to watch it, but oh well...)
