Just wanted to point out that the Ai Yori Aoshi listed for upcoming releases (3/7/06) should be 17, not 13.

"17" is the number of total volumes, NOT the one to be released on 2006-03-07. Didn't you see the font color of vol. 14-17 is grey?

Yes, I do realize that, but you should also realize that stating there are 13 volumes (and the encyclopedia is stationg 16) makes people think that there are only going to be 13 volumes total.
Then again, I doubt the accuracy of a lot of things on ANN when you can't even get the correct release date for the Scrapped Princess novel (NOT the graphic novel, but the novel novel). Oh well, if you guys don't care, why should we, right? I guess just trying to clear up errors isn't important. |

1) The number has been fixed. As I said before, users should NOT submit the total number of tankoubon before its serialization ends. 2) The "release" area is reserved for North American releases only. You are asking an impossible task: listing something that has not been determined by the licensor yet. Furthermore, many North American releases are in hiatus, but that wouldn't affect its release in Japan (which, once finalized, will be displayed at "number of tankoubon") 3) There are still many people who can't differentiate anime and manga, so I wouldn't be suprised to see some users not be able to see "number of tankoubon" right above. ANN couldn't and shouldn't be responsible for their misreadings.
It could be that the licensor postponed the release date, yet none of the staff has received a notice. Note that most of us work for ANN for free while having other obligations (being a student and/or having a day job). Personally, I don't give it a damn for NA release info; there is a place called Google.
At least I do. However, ANN relies on its 92,000+ users to establish its database. With less than a dozen active staff it is impossible and unreasonable to police the Encyclopedia in realtime. Sadly, there ARE some staff who don't care much about the accuracy of the Encyclopedia, IMO ANN's most valuable treasure (sigh). |
