He sounds very committed to this. This is what I love to hear from a director when he takes up a cult classic project.

Is the "September" accurate? I doubt anything associated with James Cameron would be released in September, one of the main lull periods of the year for blockbusters (the buffer between the big summer movie season and the early Oscar bait).

The guy is famous for just saying whatever comes to mind.

I'd expect maybe summer 2010, if he doesn't run massively overbudget.

Which he will, since he almost always does.

2010 would be only about 12 or 13 years after he began muttering openly about Battle Angel.

How speedy of him.

Better technology maybe.

That or perhaps we'll see a REAL Battle Angel! Wink

Seriously anyone have a link to the article?

Is this even news anymore? We'll be seeing True Lies 2 from Paul Anderson before we'll see Battle Angel.

I don't see Battle Angel Alita being so special it deserves a big budget live action movie by James Cameron.

But then again, for most of the anime I truly love, I don't want them to become as such.

Perhaps Cameron can elevate the material.

Well he's had more than a decade to brainstorm so maybe the time frame can insure that the movie won't suck some serious balls three years from now.
