Can't we just get the anime instead? Some of those used boxsets on Amazon are way too steep.

I'd rather watch the Jackie Chan version that this. Looks like it's lost the spirit of the original City Hunter.

Lee Min Ho and Park Min Young~~ Both great actors! Also Kara's Goo Hara is in this~ Yeah it may not be the same as jackie chan's or the manga, i think it should be good. Korean adaptions usually work out pretty well imo.

I can confirm that the show has lost almost everything about City Hunter except the title.
Lee Min Ho's character wears a pair of pink jeans..... Anyway, the background story has been changed substantially. Sucks. they should not have allowed the Korean to use the title. Totally degrade the authenticity of the manga series. |

They're changing this more than Akira.

I remember renting some of the anime and know of the Jackie Chan live action movie but I never got the chance to see it I may give it a look out of curiosity and I hope it good.

The Jackie Chan film is a campy, goofy 90's romp, though different from the anime. If you like ridiculous, over-the-top martial arts comedy, then you'll probably enjoy this. It does pay homage to the original Japanese version, and occasionally to Japanese culture. This movie is infamous for its ridiculous Street Fighter cosplay fight. |

That dub was horrible. I want my 1 minute of life back. |

Aww, it's not that bad. Amongst old kung-fu movie dubs that level of quality is actually quite normal, almost the standard, and is kinda part of the campiness of it. It's difficult sometimes to decode emoting in Chinese dialogue for a Western ear, so sometimes a dub is somewhat preferable (even if it ain't so hot), if just to accurately gauge what characters are feeling/expressing. For those with sensitive ears, or discerning taste, whatever, I think this is the original Chinese version with subs: Street Fighter Cosplay Fight. |
