Any anime fans / classical music lovers out there? I'm trying to find the title of a piano piece that comes up in various anime, because I want to (legally) find the music and play it myself. It's a soft, light song in 3/4 time, and it sounds like it came from the mid-19th century, sort of Brahms-esque. Two places where I know that this music appears are in Love Hina episode 12, when Motoko is looking at the package from her sister (beginning of the ep) and in Sister Princess episode 1, when Wataru stumbles into the piano room and hears Karen playing. I'll post any other instances if I come across them--any guesses/possibilities are appreciated.

Arrrgh, never watched the original SisPri, and I borrowed Love Hina from a friend when I was still in US. Could you record it and email it to me if no one else answers your question first?

The piece you're looking for is, Gymnopédie No. 1 composed by Erik Satie. The sheet music is available, as it is in the public domain and there are various musicians who have it on there cds. There is also a public domain recording of it on the wikipedia site: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gymnopédies

Again?! It has been overused in anime.

By the way, this thread is almost five years old...
