Reading through TANs forum they seem to have an official update from TAN suggesting that the service will be back as of December 1st, but I'll believe it when I see it. Other posters have said that they're being told by Adelphia reps that it's gone for good and isn't coming back. I have zero trust in Adelphia, they haven't done anything right in the four years I've had them and continue to disappoint more and more.

i think TAN is more to blame. They stopped sending the free signal.

Eh. In my case, the Anime Network on Adelphia didn't work half the time anyway -- one thing or another rendered the VOD service non-functional. When it did work, the picture was often garbled at points, a problem that seemed unique to TAN and didn't affect other VOD programming. Also, unrelated programs were often mixed in with the anime, making it a pain to find something of interest.

Even when everything worked, I found TAN to be a massive disappointment. I got really sick and tired of the network dropping shows like Chrono Cross and Mezzo just as I was getting into them. (If TAN is meant to be nothing more than a free preview for ADV DVD's, it should be promoted as such.) I also got sick of them never showing any subtitles, even for text translations!! That rendered the ending to the first episode of Gantz incomprehensible.

So when the VOD went out again, I just said "F*** it" and quit caring. That was months ago. I can only hope that a real 24-hour anime network can take hold. I understand the 24-hour Anime Network was a flop?

Another thing to keep in mind is that Adelphia will shortly cease to exist. Adelphia has been bankrupt for a long time (thanks to it's scummy, prison-bound executives who raped the coffers to line their own pockets), and has been bought by Comcast and Time-Warner. The Anime Network will have to arrange contracts with those companies in order to remain on in those markets.

Well, it's Thursday and still no Anime on demand. I checked Anime network's website and it said it won't be on Adelphia until December 8 at the earliest. I just hope I don't miss any episodes of Area 88. I did think about switching to satellite, but I believe it's not available there.

Well, it finally came back this week. It's now worse than ever, only four or five episodes total and a TM Revolution video between only 3 blocks. If I had to pay extra for this "service" I'd be pissed...

I also missed a few episodes that had aired during TAN's absence from Adelphia. It would be nice of them to show them again.
