I was wondering if anyone out there has seen or is planning to see the Anime Gilgamesh, I've read the review and agree with a couple of things, particularly the character design and the background, but I was wondering if there were any others out there that got interested in this anime as well and their thoughts and opinions. Thanks.

I've only watched the first 5 episodes of this series, but it looks to me that Gilgamesh has the potential to be a pretty interesting and intense series. The artwork is breathtakenly beautiful, probably the best-looking character designs I've seen since Texhnolyze, and the dub acting - anchored by Blake Shepard and Shelley Calene-Black as the Madoka siblings - is pretty solid. Even though IMO the storyline is slow to develop, I like the direction this series is heading. As I mentioned in the latest Shelf Life thread, I plan to buy Gilgamesh when (hopefully) ADV releases it in thinpak format. Currently I'm renting the series, and I hope to watch Vol. 2 shortly.

Yea, I've only seen the 1st episode, thoug..From the NewType sample disk. It looked so interesting, that I might even get the 1st volume. Though, for me, the way the people were drawn...I had to get used to it, sort of..><
But, yea, it was awesome. |
