Technically closer to four days. That's actually on the good end for TBS simulcasts, though, which have sometimes been delayed a week (like Photo Kano and My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU) or more.

I'm willing to give this a watch because it's Gainax.

Why delay at all? Isn't watching it on CR better than watching the fansub (which would come out a lot faster)?

Better only in the fact that it's legal. CR quality is usually worse TBH, in both video quality and translation quality (with some obvious exceptions of terrible fansubbing groups). Their player is also still crap

Idc about the delay honestly since I'll watch it live on TV. Still, I'm excited about this :3 as it also reminds me of GnP & Upotte!

I'm curious about this because it's Gainax. I'm glad someone picked this up.

Huh? When was the last time you watched CR? Their quality is great, see these Upotte 1080p screenshots, like this:

CR is not perfect and quality sometimes depends on their source, but it can be better than the TV broadcasts, like for Another and Fate/Zero. (In fact some groups sometime use CR rips and downscale them to 720p)

I also find their player to be the best and most sophisticated, allowing things like:

My only gripe is that it does not buffer when you pause.

As far as translations goes, other fansubbers can be good, great even, but CR is consistent. And some groups don't even translate, they just edit CR's script! See:

http://web.archive.org/web/20120504024628/http://8ths.in/winter-2012-anime-subtitle-comparison/#Nisemonogatari
(I think there was like, only one group that did their own translation. All the other groups did not even bother with their own translations; they just took CR's script, considering the difficulty with Nisemonogatari. So much for "fansubs" Rolling Eyes )

(Crunchyroll)
I knew a certain former fansubber was going to be working on this, but I’m impressed. The quality of translation is extremely high. Ep1, at least, is easily better than any group that worked on Bakemonogatari.
General level of retention of meanings, smoothness of language, and text length are all in the “A” range.
There is still room for improvement, but in terms of overall quality (accuracy, smoothness, and nuance), it’s excellent. If they can keep this up, TLCed batch will not be necessary.
