Yeah, I thought the same thing. Maybe it's a sequel of some sort? |

Talk about redundant (though I thought that Gakuen-hen kinda sucked so maybe this will be an improvement)-- but what really interests me is that Kazuki Nakashima is writing it!! He apparently JUST finished writing Kill La Kill, which is also about cool people fightin' on school premises. Kinda neat.

I've got a few questions about this manga. Does Yoko shoot up the campus with her rifle in this one? Will we see a giant robot hanging around school? Will we see Beastmen going to school? Having the cast of "Gurren Lagann" going to a modern day Japanese high school seems a little odd to me.
I'd ask the same questions if someone tried to put the cast of "Gurren Lagann" in a modern American high school. In that one,I'd imagine that Yoko Littner would have a name like Yolonda or Yvonne and probably be a cheerleader for the football team. Simoun would probably be named a freshman named Simon. Kamina would probably be a boisterous but friendly Big Man On Campus and Nia would probably be named Tia and probably the new girl in school. Forgive me,but the whole thing seems a little weird to me. Last edited by Snomaster1 on Wed Jun 26, 2013 6:46 pm; edited 1 time in total |
