Be a bit more descriptive of the case. How many discs is it? Bandai Ent. did release a blue digipack/clam case version about a year ago, but that might not be the same thing.

P.S. the casing is still on so the art on the front is a bit blurry.

Did I just see a "Region ALL" globe on its back cover? >99% a bootleg. Can you take another picture focusing the specification description region at the bottom of back cover?

P.S. You need to improve your photography skill.

Yea the big region 0 code on the back just about gives it away. Region 0 aka Region free is almost always a fake/bootleg. Thats why it's always best to ask whomever you purchasing the DVD if the DVD or boxset etc etc if these are Region 1 release by Bandai, ADV etc etc.
Till next time,

Do all bootleg DVD cases look the same. I remember not too long ago I saw the Samurai 7 "box set" for $50. The box was slim and brown like that one. Do they all come in a similar box or do bootlegeers mix it up a little. I have never bought a bootleg so this is all from memory, about 4 months ago, sorry its so vague.

Bootleg don't always look the same, normally the front cover will look like the Japanese release, or if they are trying to sell convert DVDs that English/Japanese languages they will normally look like the R1 release cover.

at least they did a better job of it then the dvd i bought off of ebay. i bought full metal panic and they put it into two different sized cases using two different kinds of cds (and one of them didn't even work). then they just taped a picture of the cover on the front of one of the cases and rubberbanded the two together.

Most bootleg will come in a "gatefold" packaging, usually fold in 3.

I hate to drag this thread up again, but no, not all bootlegs are ghetto looking. Many of them are in perfect printing quality and may even include high quality mechandise of the show such as stickers, although the region coding gives them away. Quality is a main factor when looking out for bootlegs, but they can be harder to distinguish as technology improves.

Yeah my friend let me borrow his box sets of Rurouni Kenshin and i'm almost completely sure it was a bootleg. One thing that tipped me off was that i've heard that the series comes in three box sets where as my friend got the entire series in two boxes containing a total of 12 dics. But here comes the hard part for me, the cds that were used looked so real, the pictures on the discs didn't look like any other bootleg i've ever seen but from the back of the boxes it certainly looked 100% bootlegged. The qualitly of the cds was just really well done so I either thought this might actually be real or the bootleggers actually spent alot of time on making this bootleg version of Rurouni Kenshin. Just to clear things up has the Rurouni Kenshin series ever been put into a total of 2 box sets containing 12 discs?
