Can somebody explain t his to me?
I thought that VGA had 1 or 2 volumes left. So WTF is these last 2? I was hoping VGA would have a super satisfying conclusion!
ARGH!

Ekhem... Video Girl Ai has 13 volumes.
Volumes 14 and 15 are actually called Video Girl Lem and feature a different video girl, called... LEM (shock!). Its a side story, that has SOME link to the original VGA story. Katsura made it.. hell if I know. Maybe as a consolation to the whiny fans?

I thought Video Girl Ai had a good enough ending, but I thought Video Girl Len was pretty good as well. I also enjoyed reading the old Video Girl story that features Haruno. Kind of interesting how far Katsura-sensei went with that idea.

i'm not going to lie: i though VGA was going to end with number 11 — it was called "Farewell Scene" or something and I thought that was it. But apparently it goes on for 3 more! i'm getting sick of this series. I want to complete it already. it has dragged out for sooooo long now. stupid misunderstandings and miscommunication can be used over and over and over for just soooo long.
this is why i'm not buying "I's" — even though i like it. this is why i like "Love Roma" from DelRey so much. First panel, the main character asks out the girl he likes. BOOM! just like that.

Romance and romantic comedy thrives on frustration. It's the nature of the beast. Some, like W Juliet keep the frustration going only for a single chapter and then resolve things before the next chapter starts, and others like Maison Ikkoku keep the frustration going for the entire series.
But it isn't like anybody was hiding anything from you. Video Girl Ai ended in Japan like a decade ago, and there are plenty of fan websites out there that will give you all the details you want to know. Google and Anipike are your friends.
I've always been of the opinion that reading a manga only for the ending is an enormous waste of effort. If you like it now, read it. If you don't like it now, stop. Most manga is the ride and not the final plunge. But I have to admit that I'm probably in a minority in that opinion.

i've decided. Video Girl Ai is a good series. It will be much better when I read all at once (during a few weeks of commuting to work) because the continuous flow of the story will give it momentum. With a satisfying ending, this series will be worthy of my collection becuase it will have decent re-readability.
the art is fantastic and it does have a good, original story. so there.

I know they did a live action movie with the girl who sings the ending song to the first season of Ranma and she played Ai. I only found it for rent in Japan and they wouldn't sell it to me.

I just picked up the "last" volume today. the ending was good enough.
i would have preferred an aftermath ending like Love Hina but whatever. This book basically has almost no happiness in it. but like i said, it's a very high quality book.
