Rest in peace. His art for the Seiken Densetsu series was absolutely beautiful, with a lush sense of detail. He had a positive impact on my youth, and I'm thankful for it.

Sad news, Secret of Mana is still one of my favorite action rpgs ever ~ in many ways, it was way ahead of its time.

Ah, I've got fond memories of Secret of Mana / Seiken Densetsu 2. The glitchy movement and fight mechanics, the error-filled, abridged and often nonsensical script, the many trips up the mountain to look for Sage Joch, the endless level grinding for every spell and weapon for every character...
...but of course, none of those things were Isono's fault, and they don't diminish or tarnish the enduring quality of his illustrations.

Gosh, I was just playing Secret of Mana a couple days ago. That's depressing. His artwork certainly was memorable.
Had he done anything recently?

Really sad news. I really enjoyed his work in the series. If he's the same person that worked on the earlier series back in the early 90's then his style has really changed. Not that Brownie Brown craziness. Very sad to see him go. Thank you for your massive enjoyable contributions. You'll be missed. R.I.P.
