They're pretty much gonna have to replace the dialog with one long, drawn-out *BEEEEEEP*. Laughing

I love this show and all.. but I quite honestly don't see this working out too well..

Every other word would be censored. It might even get to the point where things wouldn't be understood very well. Rolling Eyes

if it's just the F-bombs getting bleeped, then it's 259, not counting Roberta's Blood Trail

Only if Funimation could put out Black Lagoon anime in S.A.V.E. Edition on DVD/Blu-Ray instead of Anime Classics, it could be buy from me.

Beyond the usual explicit language and violence, wasn't there also a gang of neo-Nazis and their swastikas in some of the early episodes? Or were they represented more so by German crosses? I wonder if any real fuss will be made over that as well.

It's been a while since I've seen Black Lagoon. I still need to finish the second series.

The new Toonami is nothing if not constant change. Can't fault their ability to stay in the news by swapping shows in and out.

Swapping shows shouldn't be a fault, a fault would be playing Cowboy Bebop constantly for over a decade. There should always be new shows airing.

Black Lagoon would be a wonderfull edition to the toonami block considering i just watched the series about 2 weeks ago.

I dont think censoring is going to be much of a problem since toonami is a late night programe block so its not like a lot of children are going to stay up to see it. afterall toonami focusing more on teens and yoiung adults now.

I wish they would bring the uk version of toonami back, toonami was the programm block that introduce me to the anime community in the first place i sure miss it Smile.

I agree, this is Adult Swim which is officially classified as a separate channel from Cartoon Network. The censoring will be pretty minimal. I only wonder if they'd attempt to also run Roberta's Blood Trail along with the regular series.

As far as censorship goes, the dub itself is halfway there as it edited out half of the racial epithets that were used in the Japanese audio (which really cheapened the interaction between Dutch and the old Nazi). It also wasn't the world's greatest dub in general. It didn't overtake the sub until The Second Barrage, but The Second Barrage shouldn't be shown as it was a total departure from the more realistic first season.

...and one has to ask if The Second Barrage could be shown, considering that it opens with an arc involving a sex-ambiguous little kid being tortured (and ultimately killed) onscreen by having its limbs blown off by a sniper rifle.

BTW, would Toonami really have to stoop to censoring out any Nazi symbolism? Profanity, well, I guess I can understand that but the Nazi symbolism is important to the episodes and is fit to be shown blatantly on the "family friendly" US TV station "MeTV" in the retro show "Hogan's Heroes".

They'll still censor harsh language or any possible nudity, they're fine with violence.

They've censored violence before, and I'm pretty sure Black Lagoon crosses some lines. Between violence and... other things, I don't see how Bloodsport Fairytale makes it on air without some cuts.

I don't see the dub being censored, they will probably just pick a time slot that's somewhere around 2am or something.
The Yuyu hakusho dub was one of my favorites because it was the first anime to introduce profanity into my world, also are you gonna tell me adultswim has really resulted to censorship when sunday night is nothing but f bombs practically?

Yes i haven't watched cable television in awhile.
