Did Funimation not get the OVA or something?

I don't believe it's been confirmed as licensed yet, at least. They might have it, particularly if Universal Sony plans on releasing it with a dub. |

It wasn't on the part 1 or 2 DVDs then? I bet they'll get it for whenever they release S.

Nope, they only released the first TV series so far. |

They made us wait that long for a barebones release then. Wow. Glad I don't like Railgun's anime anyway.

Other than the series not getting a Blu-ray release, it's really not that big of a deal. The stuff people probably want were all unlikely to be included for various reasons. The OVA is not technically part of the first series (and may end up being released later anyway). There are some specials which are kind of like outtakes of certain scenes from the series, but these were apparently limited-time preorder bonus not on the regular discs in Japan. I frankly didn't get the references on quite a few of them and didn't find them all that amusing. There is also a different thing, a sort of short (about four and a half minutes) addendum to episode 13, that I liked for reasons of hilarity and fanservice. It was only included with the book mentioned here and may not have been possible for FUNi to license. There are some commentaries as extras. They may not be of interest to anyone that doesn't care about the dub production or people involved with it (haven't checked them out myself yet), but FUNi did go out of their way to make them (there are commentaries on four episodes, two on each part) so I wouldn't call the discs "barebones" anyway. |
