Huh, I knew that yaoi was popular there, but not THAT popular! :0
And yes. We do like Ron and Harry playing with their wands a whole different way. >;;;

It was a fine article and all, but:
Quote: | Although Boy's Love extends into comics, manga, novels and computer games, they all share the common trait of being what are called dojinshi |
Huh? There are no professionally published yaoi titles? That's pretty interesting considering there's more than one official yaoi manga anthology. I know a good deal of it is, indeed, doujinshi, but certainly not all of it. That line just bothered me for some reason....

It's good that it bothers you, because it's a mistake. Anything officially published by a company is NOT Doujinshi, and as most people are aware, there are entire companies which make a fair deal of money just for publishing BL titles.

Doujinshi = "Self Published", it doesn't mean "non-professional".
Many professional manga artists (ie: Yoshitoshi ABe) publish Doujinshi as well as their non-doujinshi manga.
Nonetheless, the article is wrong on that point.

I'm well aware. By "not professionally published" I meant "not published through a professional publisher but by one's self" not "published by amateurs" or anything to that affect. I guess I'll just chalk it up to bad wording on my part

This is the most hostile and ill informed article I've ever read. Shame on the reporter. Did he just not bother to do his research?
