I'm surprised Viz hasn't brought Koichikame through its Shonen Jump imprint.

145 volumes? I doubt Viz or ANYONE would license this, ever.

Didn't they recently license Jojo's Bizarre Adventure? That's a pretty long one, sixty-sometjing volumes as I recall...

But I doubt Koichikame would sit very well with American SJ fans anyway.

I think the longest manga series licensed in North America to date was the Dragonball series, at 42 volumes.

Most fans wouldn't bother collecting such a large series if they ever started it at all. If they were going to liscence it at all, it would have to be serialized in a magazine. I can understand why people wouldn't be up to buying the series. 145 volumes if even longer than Detectove Conan and DBZ put together. I also agree that this type of manga story may not be popular with many North American fans. This is more of the type of manga I'd go to the library for, if that chance ever came up.
