Spyware are programs that are loaded onto your computer, most of the time without your knowledge, that allow sites to cause pop-up web pages, track what you do and where you go on the net, and many other things. To get them off of your computer, you must employ a spyware cleaner. Popular programs are the aforementioned Spybot, Ad-aware, and Microsoft Anti-spyware. Contrary to popular opinion, spyware programs fail to recognize and/or clean a large percentage of what could be on your system. Even more contrary, and yet true, is that MS Anti-Spyware will find and get rid of the most spyware. Ad-aware has been doing some pretty dubious things lately, and removing programs from their spyware database, even though the programs are well-known AS spyware. I would suggest you first download Ms Anti-Virus. Install it and make sure you run a full system scan, not the smart scan. After you run that, pickup Spybot to see if you can catch anything MS missed. At this point, I wouldn't employ Ad-Aware.

You should not be receiving any pop-ups or pop-unders from ANN. ANN does not use them for advertising. Other websites may use them tho, so you won't ever get rid of 100% of all pop-ups.
