Is this NISA's first film license? I never even heard of this title.
But that kind of gives me hope they could pick up Hotarubi no Mori e.

This was a surprisingly good film. Nice ending too.

You had me at MADHOUSE.
But yeah is it just me or does that main gal look a bit like Naussica, but with Silver hair?
Anywho sounds interesting, may have to check it out eventually.

I never expected to enjoy the movie as much as I did. I loved it.

Just based on the write-up here this sounds like something I'd watch. I might wait to read a few reviews though because while the sub-only thing doesn't bother me, I'm not sure I need/want a fancy special-edition-type thing for a movie I've never seen...
...Hmm, I got goosebumps watching the trailer. I think that's a pretty good sign.

I hadn't heard of this before but i will definitely buy this. NIS moving into the movie space too is great news!
Hopefully we'll get the AnoHana Movie now too : D

Not really. Personally I love the artbook and packaging and feel it's worth MSRP. Of course that won't stop the usual people from complaining.

Wow! I didn't know NIS America could licensed films!
*begs for Hotarubi no Mori e even though it's really short*
I watched this online because I thought, "Oh why not. No way is anyone going to bring this to the U.S".
I liked it but the beginning and end were the weakest moments. The middle where they're island hopping is pretty decent so I'll buy it.

Given that the last theatrical anime I purchased on BD (DYRL) was over US$100? No.

Very cool! I was wondering if NISA was ever going to venture into the film and/or OVA biz and we now have our answer.
Even though the MSRP is $45, I think you'll find that TRSI will have it's usual 25%-ish discount on NISA titles, so the actual cost will be around $33. Considering it is a premium edition, the price, while on the high-ish side relative to other R1 anime films, is not wildly out of whack.
I'm blind-buying, for sure.

It was a fairly uneventful and unspectacular film. Think African Queen, but no enigmatic Bogey to keep the interest on the screen, and the leads have even less chemistry. If you liked the aerial segments from Sky Crawlers this may be worth renting; that's about the best recommendation I can give.

Really?
Really?
Really?
REALLY?
A sub-only disc? If they've got money for Blu-ray, they've got the money to dub it. If we're getting a BD release, we better see some production value.
