The anime has been made official, TV Tokyo now has a new site up. While the characters are the same for the most part there's a lot of debate as to whether or not this is actually the same series as Transformers Energon. It appears that Takara and Hasbro are sharing the figures but using different animation houses. I'll post new info when it's made available, but right now all we know is it's replacing Transformers Micron Legend (Armada) on the TV schedule January 9th.

It was a good anime, in fact in terms of story, it may even be the best, I just wish the robots were cel animated and not CG. But that's the least of my concerns as I had to put up with the subbed version because of the really bad dub. And I USUALLY prefer dubbed anime but not this one. Not because the voice actors were bad, on the contrary, they got the big guns (Brad Swaile, Matt Hill, Kirby Morrow, Brian Drummond etc), all of which did their best with what they were given. But American Transformers is just unbelievably bad.

They toned down the violence
They added corny lines
They added stupid jokes
They made them SOLELY for kids, could've been liked by older fans
Incomplete animation (doesn't apply to RiD)
Less war-themed and more fun actiony (Lame)

It's so clear that the Japanese care more about making a good Transformers series to sell toys while stupid Hasbro just wants to sell toys and don't give a rat's ass if the cartoon comes out good or bad. To hell with that, many of us like Transformers more as a series, so at least give the show some value of its own.

What does America produce?

- Beast Machines
- Bayformers
- Animated
- Prime

America's last 4 attempts were ridiculous (if you count out the game War for Cybertron, that was awesome!). Yeah sure, the Japanese have had their share of lousy Transformers, like Kiss Players and Victory, and many would say Super-God Masterforce. But when they really try, they come out with something worth watching.

I really hope they redub the anime Transformers series, and I hope they decide to dub the G1 Japanese-exclusives because the US ending was rubbish, I'd have rather continued with Headmasters, even though Prime dies again and we'd have to go through that lousy Beastformers arc.
