This may just be my laptop, but I puchased a 2000 Gateway laptop last August, with Windows 98, but it seems that when I put in any anime dvds in it, new, old, ADV, Pioneer, bought, borrowed, or rented, it sounds as though it was recoerded under-water. What I mean is that it has a reverberating quality to it, ( ) but it fixes itself whenever I let it maximize, double-click the screen, then maximize again( ). It could just be me, or has any of ya'll's equipment acted this way too?
Any and all responses are welcome...

It's probably your computer. If it fixes itself like that, I might suspect that it's your software or the way that your software is communicating with the hardware.

Ah... Your problem consists of two things, possibly three:
#1: It's a Gateway
#2: It's running Windows 98
#3: Among the possiblities of #3 are:
The laptop is about 5 years old
Running old DVD software.
low quality speakers.

It might be that the program you're playing the DVD with isn't adequate, and the copyright on the DVD somehow is interfering with play on the computer. Last time I borrowed Strawberry Eggs volume 1 and tried to play it on the computer, I got these wierd lines on the screen.

Get an external Audigy 2 sound card for your laptop and a nice headphones to fix your problem. Also upgrade to later OS. A2 prolly wont even run on Anything under Win 2K.
EDIT: Also to run DVDs I recommend more then 256 MB of RAM.
