Given how popular Satoshi is, I doubt that. That's like expecting them to replace Pikachu. It'd be shooting themselves in the foot. More than likely it'll be some 3D gimmick. I expect the first new movie will be some 3D-fest like how the first Best Wishes movie was some 'alternate timeline' thing.
I just hope the new girl speaks with broken French phrases like Cabernet did. Assuming they go back to the tradition of using her. Hopefully they don't do a sequel games again and make her obsolete in a year so the anime doesn't use her and uses a random Gym leader instead. Well, unless the Gym Leader is cuter, anyway. I hope they don't, because "Pocket Monsters Z" is too fun of an opportunity to pass up. All that fanart will be hilarious.

This should make decent compensation...

That would be goddamn amazing but they'll never do it. The anime as it is cheap as hell and a money-maker. No need for them to actually put up some effort when they can make more money being lazy.

You mean the current anime, only animated on a movie budget? That's essentially what a Black and White 2 promos were. If you truly expect a movie budget from a weekly TV series that's your own problem for having unrealistic expectations... or just watch the movies I guess.

I'm not saying that it would have a movie budget, but god dammit they need to retire Ash already. At least make like a one-cour side show/spin-off or something. That would be nice.

It actually previewed five new Pokemon, but only three of them were given names at the current time.

I thought the "new dimension" meant that anime won't have that ridiculous delay on western markets? After all, if it's supposed to promote games, and games have no delay...

Judging from that Pokemon Chronicles/whatever-they-called-it spinoff they had for a while focusing on side characters, switching anime protagonists with the games would've been a better idea than dragging Ash around all the time(this also would've let them keep the original plot for the anime, which would've improved the quality of the Kanto arc's ending).
But TitanXL's probably right and the odds of Ash/Satoshi taking a vow of silence and climbing Mount Silver are slim to none.

Technically that was never an actual 'series'. The dub just made up that name for all the various unrelated TV Specials and OVAs Japan had aired over the 10 years since the show began. Some of which being over five years old from one another. They were just side episodes that aired randomly throughout the series run when the show went on break for a week, or aired on Pokemon Sunday. They've made some since then (like what Hikari and Takeshi are doing while Satoshi is traveling in Isshu with Dent and Iris), but the dub never aired them. Either they don't care anymore or they're waiting to have enough to make a new "season" of "Pokemon Chronicles" or something.
All this talk of replacing the lead strikes me as odd. That would be like replacing Naruto, Luffy, Gon, Goku, Natsu/Lucy, or any other long-running shounen protagonist. Very rarely does that seem to happen, and fans would riot if they did that. Especially when even the games acknowledge they don't care at all about the male lead very much. BW, BW2 and now XY's male leads all look incredibly similar and may as well be the same guy, not to mention they have zero personality or character, so using them seems entirely pointless. It's pretty clear they only care about the female leads for 'marketing reasons', which is why they're so diverse looking in comparison. And more than likely XY's female lead will be in the anime (hopefully, barring another BW/BW2 publicity stunt) so people will get their wish there.

The difference is that Ash isn't tied to every aspect of Pokemon. Yes, he's tied to the anime but there are so many different manga and games and whatnot that do just fine without Ash, so it wouldn't be a big stretch to see a reboot/another series without him.
Heck, it seems to work pretty well for Yugioh - at least on varying levels. I could be wrong but I've heard that GX and Zexal have been the most popular with the target audience and those did away with 99% of the original series.
Not that I really care if Ash stays or goes though, but I'd think it would be much easier to have Pokemon without Ash than Naruto without Naruto.
