A rather rare anime series which DVD release was cancelled after merely one volume was released. I discovered was airing on a rather obscure network I had never heard of called "This TV" upon hunting through my schedule I found that I actually had the channel and set the series to record.

While it seems it is in the tail end of finishing out an old run, the series starts over from episode 1 November 26th at 9:00am est and will air one episode per week day until the series is complete. (yes I've checked the schedule)

I watched this series several years ago and I have to say despite being a somewhat kid oriented series it has a very solid back story comparable to that of the Last Airbender and like Deltora Quest is actually based off a series of novels by the same name.

Spider Riders definitely isn't something I plan on watching since I'm terrified of spiders... seriously, I can't even stand looking at fake spiders on TV. It's pathetic.

The "This TV" station you're referring to... is that the one that shows all those old (usually B) movies featuring big name actors before they got famous? Is it the station with those hokey commercials with people saying "I watch THIS channel for THIS!"?

Just wondering... I thought THAT station was one of those local stations in my area. I didn't know that it was all over the place. (I'm in NE Florida, btw.) The station just appeared on my line-up a month or so ago. I remember thinking that it was the RTV Channel with a slightly higher budget.

If THIS starts playing anime, I may start watching it more. Hopefully, they'll get something other than shows with spiders. Embarassed

I'm getting it on Comcast. Maybe it's a FL only thing? Ironic that we're both in FL though. Smile

i concur.
having spiders as their show's "mascot" was a HUGE mistake.
spiders freak everyone out!
they are buggy looking, are deadly poisonous,
not cute, creepy, associated with anything holloween,
not hugable, etc....
though, batman has a creepy sorta mascot, and was a huge success.
go figure.

i killed a spider in my kitchen just this morning.
hate spiders.
considering the notion of being bitten by those little fanged beasts...
scares the $@%& out of me!!!

thanks alot, now i can't go to sleep.
why did i have to see this post and get reminded of this morning's uninvited quest next to my coffee maker?

Edit:THIS TV is also on tv in new york.

@TakishidoKamen:
Just for kicks I clicked on the link, and damned if there isn't a station in D.C.!

(But I don't think that I'm going to watch the series.)

Well as I said before it doesn't start over until the 26th, but I have my DVR set to record it. You may not be interested in the series, however my motivations are somewhat different than merely watching it.

I try to record series that have no DVD release regardless of how good or bad that they are. From what I've seen of this series its a little cheesy but has a strong back story and like-able characters.

For its genre I would give it 9/10 (Shonen), judging it just as just an anime in general 7.5/10

Bumping this up because episode 1 of the show aired today, its not to late for people who plan to record the series because episode 8 is nearly a week away, which is where the canceled DVD release left off. (if you dont have it, ebay $5)
