changed terminology "to comply with Western laws,"

Uh... spoiler[Mizuki and Kuze?] That's just a guess though.

Anyway, here's hoping the anime follows.

MangaGamer does not have Eden, only ef

From a note on NNL's website

Quote:
UPDATE: There are some news reports stating that eden* has also been picked up. This is false; the fate of eden* is still unknown.

With how it is worded, it most likely means only terms that allude to the fact that they might be underaged to something that doesn't necessary allude to that. Changing "High School" to just a generic "school" is something not all to uncommon in VNs. It says "terminology and vocabulary", not "alterations to the story"

MangaGamer.com's press release states that it includes Eden*.

Yeah sorry, that's what I meant. It's too bad, I thought it played out tastefully enough in melodies; not that the alteration will make much of a difference I think.

I like this. Instead of sutting down a fan-traslation, the company is working with them to get an official state-side release. Too bad manga companies going against scanlations won't do the same.

Sometimes I wonder if companies realize that some manga is popular only because somebody whole heartedly scanlates it?

Well, the list of manga I read which is a good 6 year old list with more added each year, about 20 titles have been released state-side and thus no longer are released online. It makes me sad since I invested say, 4 years and in a manga and bippity boo, a company takes the thunder and I'm stuck in no-man's land for another 3 years until they catch up to where I left off.

At least I buy the state-side release manga I enjoy. Something about owning a physical copy is so much better than .jpegs on a PC.

So what does sutting mean? Did you mean shutting or is that the cool way of saying shutting?

This is pretty good news, but I'll never understand why anyone would name themself a loser.

It originated from NNL's early days of Visual Novel Op fansubbing. The games were obscure so their work on them were even more obscure hence why they choose to be called No Name Losers.

I don't think anyone here can actually pull up some of their earlier fansubs, so I like to think that's a pretty good sign of just how obscure they were back in the day.

Update: MangaGamer notified ANN that the mention of Eden* in its press release is an error from an earlier draft. MangaGamer's representative added, "Official announcements regarding a possible release of Eden* will be made later if official plans for Eden*'s release begin."

It's one thing that a group isn't well known, but it's still a little sad to call yourself a loser. But that is whole another subject that is better left unsaid to be frank.

The "loser" part was sarcasm...

NNL has never been short on the sarcasm...

Well, this is a bit surprising, seeing as how minori blocked all non-Japanese from viewing their website earlier this year. A pleasant surprise though, since I wanted to check these VNs out.
