Content changes? I hope that means they're planning to add more series to the magazine... There's a couple of Square Enix titles that are just begging to be licensed.

Bummer. Yen plus is a good magazine.
We are running out of Anime/Manga mags in this country.

Awww...I was enjoying getting Yen Plus every month. July, huh? Hopefully this refund thing will go smoothly--it'll be a pain to try and sort through if it's not.
But I guess going online means more series because they aren't limited to what they can produce in print, and it means that there will be a certain day the issue is put up, rather than having to "wait and see" when it will arrive.

Gorrammit, I just sent in my renewal check.
On the other hand, my shelf was getting full, so this is a good time to kick it...

At least they say they'll give refunds. I'm still bitter about my Newtype USA subscription.

Yeah, me too.
It's a shame because I am incredibly fascinated by serialized manga and Yen Plus was a good alternative to Shonen Jump. (I didn't do much with Shojo Beat simply because I'm male and could never really get down with the weirdness that was red or blue ink instead of standard black.) I'm even worried about SJ as they're starting to slim down in its titles. It's a shame that the cool ideas get canned sooner.

I don't really mind, they always sent my copy late anyway. I'm just waiting for Shonen Jump to go under, no point in keeping it with only 4 series.

So I guess I will get some money back since I was paid up until August. My own issue with them is that some issues would get lost in the mail and by the time I reported it, the remaining stock would be out so I would get a credit to my account. I'm curious if their online manga magazine will be subscription based and if they would put up like a member only section to view the pages? With all these licenses they have, they need to make a way to ensure their company is solid while paying their bills.

I'm going to guess that it'll be free since they are offering refunds.

Highly disappointed. For me, the delivery problems had been finally worked out. I was receiving the magazine in a timely manner. Its arrival was always a welcome sight in the midst of a sea of bill notices. Except for Gossip Girl which I couldn't get into, I read every story and every sidebar article. I LIKED the fact that I could read the stories anywhere anytime without being tied to my computer. I'll follow the stories when they move online, but the experience won't be as enjoyable for me because my online reading setup can't replicate the experience of reading while sitting on my couch in my living room.

...and another one bites the dust, it's actually a shame I enjoy the magazine for the most part.

Another one has not bit the dust. They decided they would make more money by making it free instead of charging for it. That's not a bad thing completely. Lets wait and see how this all turns out, it could be quite good. Unless they partnered with Crunchyroll.
