Well, that's pretty epic. I only wish I could be there Why does California have to be so far away?

You know, every year I debate with myself about if this is the year I'll finally head to AX. I always say no because I wanna save for Comic Con and the amount of travel to LA and getting a hotel always seems like a hassle to me. Then stuff like this pops up, on top of the awesome announcements that have been made thus far.
That tears it, I'm buying next year's ticket regardless. For those at AX, enjoy and have fun. |

Lucky Anime Expo-goers! I wonder if she's going to wear that hat she almost always wears.
I got her autograph back in 2002 at the BAAF. One of the best days of my life. |

Wasn't there supposed to be a surprise guest coming?
If so, I guess it's her. Pretty awesome regardless, though it sucks for those who probably who would've decided to attend had she been announced earlier. |

Curse it all. Now I'm really upset that I'm missing that concert. I knew it was either her or Mari. I didn't think they'd make her a surprise guest.

This is who I figured AX's "secret" guest was after the announced the Macross Frontier singers. Unfortunately I couldn't have gone to this convention even if I had the money to do it. I'm glad those at AX will get a chance to see her and it makes me wonder if she might be in LA for something else other than the convention (say like meeting the people who are making Cowboy Bebop LA? It's a wild thought but not totally a impossible one IMO)?

I certainly hope so. Cowboy Bebop WITHOUT a Yoko Kanno soundtrack? That would be a travesty. Kanno-sama's music MADE the series IMO. Everything else was perfect, but the music put the exclamation point on it all. Let's see, now. I'm in North Carolina now, it's Friday evening, given the three hour difference, times the speed of light, divided by the Earth's rotation, take the factor of my weight times the function of my EXCRUCIATING desire to see Kanno-sama... I JUST might make it by next year. |

Yoko Kanno is probably my favorite living musician/composer, and the chance to see her might have actually driven me to attend AX, had I known about it earlier.
Ah well...here's hoping everyone there enjoys her fantastic music. I always enjoy her personality in interviews too, so I hope she has some interesting things to say. Maybe she can reveal what she's working on these days. Anyway, guaranteed to be some great music, there. |

ugh, and the only reason I didn't go to Anime Expo was because I wasn't interested in this year's guests. If I had known Kanno Yoko was going I would've bought tickets immediately. Way to fail, Anime Expo.
