Does this mean NYANKOI! won't get a release?!?

They also published two other favorites of mine....GON and CHIKYU MISAKI.....this is awful!

Not surprised at all what so ever... I don't know one person who bought from their line of stuff.
It's sad, but they had no titles that people actually cared about. No big loss.

Well, Apothecarius Argentum was nice while it lasted. That's the title I was collecting. -Though I'm used to having my heart broken when it comes to manga, this still stings. It is one of the reasons I don't collect much manga anymore...
Better go and buy Emma while I still can...

Though I never really got into their manga outside maybe some of their titles like Emma, I hope another company can get manga licenses rescued. Is it possible that the crap they got for very much Americanizing Tenjho Tenge was a contributing cause to thi?

NO NO NO NO NO!!! ;________; Oh my God, so many manga publishers have kicked the bucket this year alone! This just ruins my day.

Maybe for the readers of shonen, but their shojo line was fantastic. They had some real gems--anything from Nari Kusakawa especially.
EDIT: ...Just found out that Two Flowers for the Dragon is 7 volumes long...and CMX is just getting around to shipping vol. 6. CRAP.

Yeah, except me. Thanks for your concern. And your concern for people who may have lost their jobs because of this.
Congratulations, America. You're right on your way back to 1994, when the only stuff released was ultraviolent and pornographic OAVs.

It's a shame to hear that CMX is shutting down. I only ever bought GALS from the CMX line, but it's still one of my favorite manga titles.

It's sad, but yea, I don't own a single book from them. They've had very very few series that have interested me, but they always seemed willing to license less mainstream books, which was nice. I guess I should pick up the few ones that did interest me before they're out of print (Chikyu Misaki, Astral Project, and maybe Emma). Sucks, but honestly, they should have put more thought into their catalog. They had no potential hits whatsoever (except Tenjo Tenge which got off to a rough start).

Oh... wow. I am very very sad to hear this. CMX has so many wonderful titles—many of my very favourites. And from their twitter account, monthly newsletters and forum they seemed like such a friendly, awesome bunch of folks. It's a small comfort that we'll get one last volume of a few of these series before they close completely, but... man. Sadness...

For those who read and enjoyed their titles, here's hoping those series get picked up by someone else.
One good thing that can come of this is maybe someone will do so with Tenjo Tenge, and this time it can get a proper release. Five years ago when it was announced that CMX would censor TT, I pledged I wouldn't buy it (and it was the only thing they've released that I was interested it), but if someone else released an unedited version in the near future, I'd buy it.

Ugh, I read tons of their stuff.
Plus there goes a ton of all age friendly titles. We sold a lot of their shoujo titles to younger girls at our shop. Their stuff is way better than most of the VizKids stuff that's out and a lot of their shoujo is T or T+.
Nari Kusakawa's stuff always sold a ton too. Two Flowers for the Dragon was always a top seller (not as big as Naruto but easily a fit in right after the series that automatically sell tons).

I'm seriously bummed about this. CMX had a really awesome selection of stuff that I never thought would come over here. I mean, really, who else is going to pick up Eroica?
I guess the only good thing about this is that it's going to be hard to blame scanlations for CMX's demise - outside of Tenjo Tenge, hardly any of them have scans out there (as far as I know, anyway). Hell, maybe this says something about the free publicity that comes with piracy - it's not like DC went out of their way to advertise their manga anywhere, so just how were fans supposed to know about it?
