Unfortunately for me, it looks like they will be simulcasting episode 8 with no information about how, or if, the back episodes will be loaded. Since I don't watch fansubs, this simulcast does me little good. I really don't like jumping in in the middle of the story.

I'm sure they'll be adding eps 1-7 when ep.8 goes up, so don't worry. The fact that Giant Killing will be legally available in English in some way makes me sooo happy, since I figure there's no way it'd ever be picked up for DVD/Blu-ray release in the US. Then again, Cross Game... But that's also just a streaming release at this point... |

According to animebriefs:
http://animebriefs.com/2010/05/21/crunchyroll-adds-giant-killing-petitions-for-bleach/ They'll upload episode 1 the same time they simul episode 8, and add in episode 2-7 as soon as they can afterwards. |

Oh! that's cool. It would have helped if they had said so in their announcement. Looking forward to watching this show in a big way.
Jumping up and down in happiness now. Wheee! |

How come Captain Tsubasa never gets attention in the west? It's a much better Football anime than Giant Killing.

I'm really psyched to finally hear this news, as I've wanted to see the series after the positive things I've heard about it and from not having seen a sports anime in a while. Now if they could just secure the Ashita no Joe TV series...

First they will load ep8 to make sure the simulcast pipeline is working, and then shortly after that they will catch up eps 1-7. That's what they have done before each time they have started mid-season, like Yumeiro which started five weeks late. |

... now all eyes turn to whether Crunchyroll with the help of TV Tokyo can land the Bleach simulcast with a petition drive ... remembering that a petition drive is what pushed CR over the top to get Naruto.

Awesome!! I watched two episodes of this in fansubs as a preview, and had it on my "to look out for" list. I'm glad to have another new show to watch, and glad that Crunchyroll got another strong show.

Finally! I've been waiting for them to announce their last show, and I'm glad it's Giant Killing. I've been hearing many great things about the show, and it seems different enough from what I normally watch, so it should be interesting.

It's not about attention. It's about money. CR will license anything it can afford, and this seems to be one of them(besides even if it costs more CR is obviously going after currently airing anime, for now). Anyway, it's a lot easier to keep up with CR than with fansubs, so this acquisition is more than welcome. |

They've updated their announcement on their site's News Forum:
So people who have been following it by magical means can start with 8, and those who do not use the black arts can start with 1 and watch as they come out and expect to be caught up by around weeks 10 or 11. |

Yep. I noticed they finally posted the update. Looking forward to episode 1. Yay!!
I would love it if they could get Major as well, but that is probably completely wishful thinking on my part. |

Just committing to subtitle a long series is a consideration - but since the Spring season tends to have fewer new anime series, its the kind of series where they might consider bulking up a slower simulcast season with a one-per-day release of a back title. Have to know how successful Eyeshield21 was for CR and then find out how well they do with this one. Definitely sports animes will be getting the hint not to hold out for a US DVD distributor to come in with a big license fee. |

Yippee! This title is so addicting.
Thanks CR. |
