I am proud for whoever wrote this article.
I never thought I would see the word Bilking in my life again after reading it in a dictionary!

We might as well blame otakus for the second World War.

I thought the same thing. But you know the sad part? I only remember the word Bilking, and not what the article was about

Okay...Color me stupid. What'd they do exactly? Something in the wording has confused me.
They ordered these stickers, and were then selling them for profit?

The three suspects allegedly received 86 million yen from ANA Trading to purchase 5.6 million Digimon stickers. However, police say that the three placed fake orders, and ANA Trading apparently did not receive the stickers or its money back.

Quote: | The suspects are two former ANA Trading employees — 35-year-old Ryūshi Taniya and 37-year-old Tadashi Amano — and Kazunori Tsuda, the 45-year-old former president of the confectionary maker Himalaya Tokyo. |
Though perhaps a result of my upbringing, I have never associated confectioners — out of all people — to be the sort of person willing to dabble in criminal ventures. The homely charm of a varied array of sweet jars always leads me to trust those who tend to them.

Himalaya Tokyo also sold Pokémon pastries with stickers, although they were not listed as part of this alleged scam.

Ohh, okay. So basically, they kept the money, and no stickers were actually ordered, yes?
That makes more sense now. Thanks.

Agreed, I mean don't these people have anything better to do?
This is just like plagiarism, eventually you'll get caught and when that happens, the consequences are huge.
Seriously, some people just have way too much time on their hands these days.
