I enjoy reading The X Button, but I'm always a little disappointed whenever Todd starts complaining about Super Street Fighter IV's returning characters. Street Fighter has a massive cast to choose from, and I'd rather get a (former) Capcom mainliner like Cody over, say, Retsu or Sodom.
Then again, I also found three of the four New Challengers to be great characters, especially Fei Long. Cammy didn't come into her own until Super Turbo.

just by looking at the logos in the MVC 3 trailer, you can see who tell who some of the unconfirmed characters are:
Marvel
Captain America (far left), Deadpool (middle)
Capcom
Viewtiful Joe (far left), Dante (far right), Chun Li, (next to Dante)

If anyone but Cavia was developing Nier, it'd be a sure winner with its unique approach.
But alas, reality stings. Especially if you're allergic to crap.

All I need from the Marvel side is Deadpool and Gambit. As for CAPCOM, I vote for Amaterasu, Dante, Nero, Vergil, maybe Trish, Arthur, Haggar, Zero, Strider, and Nina.

I'm selling my copy of FFXIII so I can get my hands on the LE for Agarest...
And because Agarest is supposed to be 100+ hours.

I picked up the PS2 version of Sakura Wars but after reading a few reviews I'm not sure which language version to play. Usually, when available/applicable, I go with the original Japanese language, like in .Hack, but I'm only hearing good things about the English dub.
Does anyone know if, since it's on different discs, whether or not you are able to switch languages mid-game by loading the other disc?

I'm totally loving Sakura Wars - it's entertainingly daft and likeable. I do have a few comments on the Wii version...
1/ There's no Japanese voice soundtrack on the Wii version (excepting the opening title song).
2/ You can really tell this was designed for a controller with two thumb sticks. In some parts of the game you have to manipulate the controller in a way I can't fathom how you'd do without two thumb sticks, and would be incredibly awkward -especially where you have to rotate the sticks. I use the Wii Classic Controller, and while that's better for some parts of the game, then some control buttons are not the ones indicated on-screen! Also, for some parts of the game, you still need to use the Wiimote - although those parts are few and far between.
Other than that, it's been enjoyable so far.

Good lord, that second statement... What a total waste! When talking about Agarest, you should choose your words more carefully, like this:
Quote: | And because Agarest is supposed to be very long and hard. |
There you go!

Man, Compile Heart needs to stop forcing all that fanservice into IF games.

For the MvC3 art: Two silhouettes on the left side - Super Skrull and Dormammu.

Thanks to the reviewer for the interesting read of a review for Sakura Wars. That might be just what I need to give Modern Warfare 2 a break and fire up Sakura Wars instead.

When you send that Agarest package to Ebert, be sure to also send one to Focus on the Family. I am half tempted to do it myself, and probably would if I didn't know they likely would not make it past the mailroom clerk that opens the package...

I picked up Chaos Rings last night after reading this, only played for about 15 minutes but I'm really enjoying it so far. The controls are easily the best I've ever seen for an iPod game.
Also, it's only $12. They're charging $10 a piece for FF1 and FF2, so it's not that much more expensive than what Square usually charges.

Speaking of which, that "get excited if..." line contains a world of wasted possibilities.
