The source given for the credit in Akahori Gedou Hour Rabuge (TV) links to a site where the anime is "streamed with English subtitles for free".

Is this a case of source spamming? Which thread should I have reported this to, instead of opening a new one?

I wouldn't mind as long as the information submitted is correct. In fact, it is better than "watched myself" as such a link provides a way to verify the information that might not be available otherwise.

On the other hand, while it was not a problem in the past when sources are only available for staff to read and verify, right now every user could see those, and it is possible to overwhelm an entire entry with all cast and staff submitted referring to illegal streaming. I'll leave it to Dan to make the final decision.

One way to handle it might be to apply the same filters the forums use to mask known fansub links, but display the full link to staff.
When I was looking at the Manga submissions I found nearly every one I looked at seemed to be sourced to a scanlation site.

Oh, this isn't just a site that lists scanlations but one where you can read the whole thing online.

I don't really like having those streaming/fansub/scanlation sites as sources, but it doesn't seem like we can avoid it. As dormcat said, at least it's a source we can check. I don't think ANN is in danger of becoming a fansub hub through those source fields; I can't imagine anyone clicking through the "source" links in the page just to find a fansub site.
