Another case of right name, wrong Kanji, plus a dash of conflicting role types 山本俊一: Uta Kata (Assoc. Producer) 山本真一: Plawres Sanshiro (Shiage) Lodoss War (制作進行*) 山本慎一: VP Miyu (制作進行) * 制作進行=Production Runner, as in "Kuromi" (among other translations) I was expecting two people and it looks like I got three, and one of those is spelt two different ways.. I've not had any luck finding anything online for Princess Rouge yet - it doesn't have a page on the Japanese wikipedia nor even anything on youtube other than one of the songs sans video - and the only two I can directly confirm are Utakata and Miyu:

Does it even make sense to have someone who did both 仕上げ and 制作進行? AFAIK those are two very different jobs.

The Miyu and Lodoss War credits are almost certainly the same person, which means one of them is spelt incorrectly. I have a direct source for Miyu and only indirect sources for Lodoss, but is isn't impossible for the credits on the Miyu DVD to be spelt incorrectly, although it was consistent across both episodes.
Princess Rouge is a similar role and in the right timeframe, but I was never able to find online confirmation for that credit. The single Shiage credit pre-dates everything else by 15 years so is almost definitely just someone with the same/similar name. |

So, definitely two different spellings, but being the same role and same timeframe they have to be the same person - but with only two points of reference it is impossible to determine which is the correct spelling. Checking to see if Google can turn up anything else: "山本慎一" "制作進行": Daisuki! Bubuchacha (http://www1.vecceed.ne.jp/~m-satomi/Ilovebubuchacha.subtitle1.html) Muteki Ou Tri-Zenon (http://www1.vecceed.ne.jp/~m-satomi/try-zeon.subtitle2.html) X (http://www1.vecceed.ne.jp/~m-satomi/X.subtitle2.html) Tenchi Muyo GXP (http://www1.vecceed.ne.jp/~m-satomi/tenchimuyoGXP.sub1.html) Captain Tsubasa (http://sb-p.jp/oishi/tsubasa/2001list003.html) "山本真一" "制作進行": Totsugeki! Pappara-tai (http://members.at.infoseek.co.jp/animelist/ad/Papara.htm) ..so, I'm definitely leaning towards 山本慎一 being the correct name here 
....Oh, and we can ignore the Uta Kata credit - it looks like I made a typo there myself as it should by Shunichi Yamamoto. That basically just leaved the shiage (山本真一) and production (山本慎一) credits to be split. |
