So it's sort of like Romeo and Juliet with mochi?
Of course the relationship between the two leads could be kept strictly platonic.

Ya know, the staff of KyoAni does have a consistent record in making likable main male characters so I'd imagine this one would be no different.

I have no problem with it generally, but I was looking forward to another show with a lot of possibility of Yuri shipping like K-On. Doesn't seem like that'll happen if theres a guy.

Ok, that's just wrong. What do you think that was, Lucky Star? K-On was set at an all girls school, Lucky Star just felt like it. Really, really felt like it...
Tamako Market, let's see: A high school freshman, born on New Year's Eve and her childhood friend lookng for her birthday present...
And so begins a new year like no other? Finding a parrot in December in Japan flying around in the market district is a good start. Of course, it could just appear in a pet shop but that's not as fun.
And rice cakes. Does she were them as hair decorations or are they mock ups? Please let them be real...
It should be fun, as long as it doesn't take itself too seriously. Romeo and Juliet? Way too serious...

Haha oh man.
You yuri shippers need to take a page from us yaoi shippers and realize that ANYTHING can be construed as subtext if you squint hard enough.

I agree with RyanSaotome, it should have been an all/only girl anime.
That was one of the key reasons K-ON was enjoyable.

pffffft
Suggesting something as minor as a male love interest can stop me from yuri shipping. Please, what do you take me for?

There are enough animes with all female cast, quite frankly who cares. It doesn't really matter, it won't make it more or less of a good show.

You can't seriously say that you don't enjoy the sexual aspect of yuri. Even I enjoy that aspect.
