Sad it unlicensed, but I really do doubt FUNi would pick it up. As for the franchise as a whole, anyone see at the movie's BluRay remaster? I wonder how it looks.

Tough call. I already got the manga which covered the arc of the OVAs I forgot to watch, but my nostalgia for the series in general, back when anime was less common here, motivates me to pick it up. But then it ends up coming off redundant if I ever decide to go for the tv show one day. *sigh*

Will pick up the collector's edition if RightStuf ever lists it as back in stock.

Animeigo's clearancing it on it's website for 14.99, so that's the most likely place you'll find it. I've gotten stuff mailed from them before, and they're pretty good.

It's kind of sad, but considering Animeigo's held the license for longer then many posters here have been alive [since 1994], it's been around plenty long, was constantly available, and had a good shelf life.

I gave in and decided to order it. It got me into the series in general, and Woodhead was nice enough to pay Japan's ransom for a remaster, so I can't resist. Besides, my salvaged Mini-Goddess is lonely without it. Now if only I could afford the rest of YUA and UY, even at those discounted prices...*sigh*

Aw, this makes me feel sad

The OAV series was the 1st thing AMG-related I ever saw and really got me into the entire franchise when I was like,12. I even think the 2nd DVD was one of the very first anime on DVD I ever got.

and now my memories are being sold for 5.99 plus S&H

oh well. that's life I guess.

Well it's back in stock already at RS but it's $20.99. Even with shipping it's cheaper on Animeigo's site.

Is the collectors edition with the remastered video worth buying if one already has the original two discs?

Gyaahh! Must buy now!!!

This was my first introduction to the series as well and I fell in love with it instantly. I've now become a huge fan of the series and still don't know why I love it so much.

This was an oldie and a goody. I loved the OVA series. I own the first 2 releases. I was crazy about the 3 disc release because it didn't really offer much and they stretched it out into 3 discs. But it's fine for those who never had the chance of owning it. Can't say I have much love for the TV series. Yet AIC was involved with both yet I hated the designs for the TV series.

I hope that someone will pick this up and re-release it.

The newer release had better encoding quality, the original DVDs were extremely poor in quality...

According to Animeigo's website, they've already sold out of the collector's edition.

Aw, the AMG OVA was the first anime series I owed completely, on VHS no less. Perhaps I should upgrade to the DVD version....
