What does Higurashi have to censor? Text descriptions of extreme violence? If Umineko is anything to go by, I can't imagine there being a lot of images.

Wow, Soul Link the anime was absolutely terrible. I can't imagine the game to be some amazing piece of work either. I didn't really think there was a viable fanbase for completely brainless and poorly made porn games like that.

A single naked Satako sprite. Ryukishi07's art work in Higurashi is as about unerotic as you can get, so I miss out on why it was such a big deal in the first place...

Not only unerotic, but just proportionately challenged altogether.

Nudity, Satoko had a towel placed round her in the censored version. I can't see why they did that either, the sprite shows no detail and there's nothing sexual about it.
One of the Soul Link CGs might be illegal here (the UK) tho', it depends on how explict the scene that got walked in on is, and of course wether there is context for it.

Old news. I thought we were going to be discussing the changes that they announced the day before the Higurashi release...

(Forgive me if I'm not allowed to link that)

True;
from what I can gather from there, music copyright is always problematic. The references to (and advertising of?) other works in the staff room which MG obviously don't own all the licences for.
The minigame is typical doujin soft in terms of pilaging characters.

The uncensored Satoko sprite actually has a vajayjay, which surprised me. But I agree that it the sprite is entirely unerotic, both in context and appearance.

Game >>>>> Anime. Game has a real and sensible plot....You'd be surprised as to what Navel can conjure up.
Considering the animators for Soul Link was Picture Magic, who had screwed up W~Wish and Lamune prior to it, there wasn't really that much more hope for in the anime to begin with.

As long as the police don't bust down my door for it. I've noticed that the authorities don't particularly care if it's erotic or not, as long as it exists then it could be interpreted as either being offensive or obscene. But yeah I wouldn't considered that to be either.

...speaking of this game, did ANN announce the give-away contest winners, yet? Do they put it on the site, or do they send you an email?
