Warning for those who haven't seen the rest of the series, the cast gains more baggage than an AirBus cargo hold. This doesn't really weigh the series down, but it made me wonder if S.A. took some notes from an episode of Melrose Place.
Megumi ended up being the best character, in my opinion. Hikari was too much of an airhead and Kei was too much the object of my extreme distaste to find either of them that likeable.
Seriously. Who would ever find Kei truly attractive?

Good to hear that the Ghost of ADV Past avoided subtitle errors this time around. Seriously, I was skimming through the review just waiting to read about more problems in that department.

.. I may pick this up again later but I dropped it after a few episodes because I could not stand Kei at all (arrogant punk). I actually liked Hikari though.
Does Kei's personality change later on? Also is there any drama?

I mostly hated this title because of how farking smug these main characters are. I mean honestly, they're so rich and smart that they have their own super special awesome building that non-S.Aers can't get into? Well geez, that doesn't scream elitist pricks does it?
And I disagree, the stone dropping on Hikari got old very, very fast (episode 1 I would say).

Japanese seem to really love elitism.
I also thought most of the jokes in this series got old way too fast. It's a very average shojo series, there is much better out there.

I guess there were some problems with He Is My Master and of course Clannad, but the rest of the Sentai series I have are pretty spot on as far as subs go. I just finished up the first collection of Tears to Tiara, and finished up Ghost Hound about a month ago, and both were very well done. Special A is actually up next on my list.

So wait, they are elitist pricks because they get access to better things? Gee, kinda missing the point of the series a little, aren't you? And also, comical effect; I, like Key, found their whole setup positively ridiculous, and funny.

I agree, the characters do pick up a lot of baggage later on. And Megumi wound up being my favorite character as well, though Hikari wasn't bad either. As for Lelouch--er, Kei, I didn't like him, but he didn't grate on me either.
On the whole, the show had its ups and downs, from the art, to the comedy and the characters (I really dislike the OPs and EDs, myself). As maaya said, very average in my opinion. Now I must go off to order the DVDs...

I stopped watching a while ago at about episode 3.
This is making me want to pick up a copy of the DVD and finish watching. Better put it on the holiday list then.

It is good to see that Section 23 is starting to get better with its subs. I'll probably give this a rent first to see if it is something that I would be considering adding this title into my collection.

Wait, a Section23 release with no typos and extras?! Wow, I need to rent this! I got a bit into the manga before deciding my interlibrary loan slots would be better spent on Vagabond, and the anime might not be a bad way of seeing whether I want to pursue it more...

Bait-and-switch lesbian, unfortunately for yuri fans. As far as I got in the manga, she was clearly being set up for a relationship with Tadashi. Not that I necessarily mind that, since I liked Tadashi, but still. Couldn't we have gotten her a girlfriend?

You know for me, that was part of the reason i dropped the fansubs of this show. I found that way more annoying that Akira hitting Tadashi.
Personally i really like the SA manga, so when the anime came out i was so biased against the anime. Maybe I'll give it another shot now since i haven't read the manga in a while, and since the dvds are out i can watch it guilt free.

S.A. was one of my shows I watched in my euphoria state of just learning about anime, so numerous times while I was watching the fan subs I was like, "this is the best thing ever!," then preceding to pass out because I stayed UP to 8am marathoning it. It is really entertaining, but looking back... I think I'll pass on this one. I would definately deem this rental worthy for shojo fans, but the gimmicks don't guarantee me purchasing it. But I am glad it was licensed, I know plently of friends that are excited about this license!

This show is pure entertainment. It's not particularly deep, and some aspects of it can get old or are not quite original enough, but it's a blast to watch. The show it reminds me most of is definitely Ouran High School Host Club, but the two series are definitely different enough that I expect that there are folks who wouldn't really like one but would love the other. Still, if you liked OHSHS, odds are that you'll like this.
I didn't mind Kei anywhere near as much as everyone else seems to, but he definitely would be a lot more annoying if Hikari weren't around. Personally, I found their interaction quite entertaining. But I can certainly see why some would get irritated at him for being too arrogant. There's no question that he cares about Hikari though.
In any case, I really liked this show. It's a fluffy affair, but it's a blast. It was certainly good enough that I started picking up the manga as well (and that's good too).

I liked this series, but I must say that the manga is much better and the characters are more relatable in the manga. Reading this series is far better than watching it.
