Hopefully the rest aren't far behind. Cheers to the HK Customs Task force for taking them down.

Yea, ask him where he got it from. A picture doesn't say much, but I do recognize the GTO bootleg in the picture. Just a rip off of the r1 version. |

He isn't in the channel right now.
If you like to know, it is on the mIRC network ZiRC and channel anime-in-action I've seen that Ranma before, someone else had it. |

Yeah, I use to have it . But my friend was err.. not dumb but... willing enough to buy it from me after I decided to get rid of all my bootlegs and stick with the legit stuff. Same goes with that Ranma box. I believe that's season 2, also an R1 rip. And then there's that Yuu Yuu Hakusho box, I've seen that one for sale too. Well, it looks like some of my friends will be running out of "anime" to buy now... . |

Aside from that, here is a bootleg FAQ website I found:

This is probably a wild guess, but if the groups that do fansubs from R1 rips (english+japanese audio/english subs) stopped doing that and if they got rid of the bootleggers, the total revenue for the anime industry would probably double or triple (from the current $1.84 billion)

Assuming they didn't bugger off to another hobby. |

While this is progress, the problem really isn't going away. Since people are on to anime bootleggers, bootlegged J-rock/pop is now becoming more common. And since it's not 'monitored' like anime is, retailers can sell it. Animecastle.com carries tons of bottlegs, and tries to pass it off as the original stuff.
