This is very sad news. But, it's best to remain optimistic untill the very end.

I hope this doesn't mean what I think it means, because if it is...Aw man what a way to go.

I dunno. Remains would imply decomposition, and that usually doesn't happen that fast, does it...?

Unfortunately decomposition when a body remains exposed to the elements and insects can render it difficult to identify in a time as short as 48 hours. Exposed as this body is, it's likely decomp was in full swing within a few hours. After a week, it's very likely the body would be in a condition that "remains" would be an accurate term.

I hope and pray that it isn't him, but...unfortunately the evidence is all pointing towards a sad outcome.

I find it hilarious that if it turns out to not be him, everyone is going to rejoice. As in, "Hooray! The dead person is nobody important!"

I find it extremely sad that you would say that.

It's him. For it to be a mistake would require better luck than you could pool from the whole of mankind.

wow, such a death would surely send a few tremors round the anime community. Such a shame if it is him.

this is sad, if they are his remains, then may he rest in peace with God in heaven *says a prayer*. I'm a Christian, so I'll be sure to keep him in my prayers

If you're a christian, shouldn't you keep him in your prayers regardless of his identity? Whether it is the creator of Shin-chan or not, a family just lost someone.

I mean I will pray for whoever's remains we're found, and for Shin-Chan's creator, as well as their families

Which is exactly why we will pray for whoever's soul was within that body, regardless. It is obvious that this area is popular with hikers and hill walkers, but how many of them are missing at the same time at present, to say it could be someone else? Until the "remains " are recovered for forensic examination, it's still an open question.
